I can absolutely recommend this place!

I stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Rauber. Everything newly renovated, very clean and quiet, comfortable bed. Mr. Rauber was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very varied - there was also oat milk. Price - performance top!

Beyond Expectations.

Easy to find, and spacious parking. Got my room key from a young women, pretty cold. No information about Restaurant, breakfast, wifi or direction to the room etc.
Expected the room to be old and decor dated. Wrong.
Renovated with good size TV and Queen bed. Clean! Room 118.
Wifi worked on/off. Breakfast good.
All in all, value for money.

Generally Poor

Having booked the sister hotel (Landpartie - die Brasserie (also 'reviewed')) to find it closed for food and drinks, we were persuaded by the owner to stay at the Landhotel Rauber 2km up the road.
On the down side:
The hotel has no real character and is on a back road off the main road. More a one night pit stop for a business person than people on holiday.
There was dire 70's and 80's music playing at breakfast time.
We were left to our own devices at breakfast, milk had run out but could not find anyone to fill urn.
Service with a grimace at breakfast.
Lots of fliers in breakfast room that could land on cold meat display etc.
Cracked wash basin in the room.
Small point I know, but the shower gel dispenser was empty.
But in the hope of providing a balance review - on the up side:
Barman very good, service with a smile and efficient.
Bedroom average.
Comfortable bed.
Food ok - your average German meat and few veg affair.
Not bad for the price, but we have had a lot better in Germany for the same price.

2 night stay

we were a family of 10, 92yr old mother, 9 of her children plus our guide. When we arrived they did not have our reservation for 2 triples, 2 doubles and 1 single, even though it had been confirmed online. We were finally placed in rooms, only to be told they all had to change due to a larger reservation arriving the following day and staying longer then we were. My dbl had not been cleaned when they previewed it to us. Was all very taxing and inconvenient. Food was good at dinner and the breakfast bar.
Thankfully we had relief due to Nick, at the bar!

Das Hotel war sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Als der Fernseher nicht ging , war der Chef persönlich da um ihn einzustellen.
Bei Nachfrage für Frühstück - nein, zZ nicht, Restaurant wäre auch geschlossen.
Am gleichen Abend war kein nennenswertes Restaurant geöffnet (Karfreitag) - also wir suchten nichts Gehobenes , sondern ganz normal!
Also mußten wir bis St. Wendel ca. 12-15 km fahren
Frühstück nä. Tag: auf dem Weg nach St. Wendel ( ca. 6 km eine Bäckerei mit Café)
