Great hotel, idyllic, very nice, courteous staff. The boss is always on site and let every wish from your lips. Food and drinks are very varied. They are very nice and especially clean rooms. Thanks a lot. Very happy to return

The second time in this beautiful hotel.. everything is just right.. an exceptionally good breakfast (buffet) and the service is not only professional but particularly warm.. we will definitely come back.. thank you very much for a few lovely days

Always a good choice.
Once again, it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel invites you to come back. All the staff are extremely competent, professional, super friendly and do everything possible to make the stay as pleasant as possible. It is a very good example of how valuable international staff is. They do everything very well. Practice makes perfect! Hopefully the staff will stay. The food is excellent, worth the price. The rooms are top-notch as always. Everything and everywhere is very well maintained. Keep it up. See you soon. Thomas G.

Well run establishment in Ahrenshoop
The hotel is located on the main road in Ahrenshoop, with the sea wall and the beach two minutes walk away.
The road isn't all that busy, so despite the road just outside it is quiet.
My room was a nice comfortable room, a bit over decorated in my opinion, but that, is a personal preference.
Well furnished with plenty of storage, and surfaces to put your belongings and a long shelf at the head of the bed that made reaching spectacles, mobile phones, watches and books at night easy.
Light switches placed in logical places. However there was no power socket by the bed, so not possible to charge mobile phone / surf pad during night and still have them accessible.
Nice wooden floor and a good bath room. The bed, was a little hard, but this is also a personal preference.
The bed clothes, a nice down quilt and pillow were the luxurious I've ever seen in a hotel room.
The Wifi worked well in the room and the whole hotel, and I liked the fact that there was encryption and password protection on the actual WLAN, rather than an unprotected WLAN with log in from a Webb page, as is normally
the case.
The staff are friendly, courteous, professional and efficient. Interesting to observe them working together, good teamwork, they seem to have fun working together, and to be proud of the good work they do.
The same staff is working in the hotel reception, in the bar, and in the restaurant.
The hotel has to some extent quite a busy feeling, like a large city hotel, also a tiny bit like "a restaurant with a hotel".
It is it a little confusing, and hard to know who does what, because it might be any of the staff addressing any request from the guests.
However, I admit that the fact that I arrived on Christmas day, to a hotel with the only open restaurant in the village, might have contributed to this feeling.
The breakfast was the most enormous and varied breakfast buffet I've ever seen, I think. Wow!
Brötchen and Croissants, masses of meats and different kinds of slized cheese, cereals, yoghurts, jams and preserves, sliced vegetables. In particular I appreciated the bowl of cut cress. Different hering and egg sallads, cottage cheese etc.And lots of different slized fruits. And eggs to order.
The coffee, as usual in the area, was served at the table in a small pot, and was rather weak.
And, I realized afterwards, I don't remember seeing any vegetarian or vegan sandwich spread, like for instance, hummus or some olive paste.
And, on a modern breakfast buffet of this size, I'd really have expected that.

Acceptable Baltic Sea (Ostsee) Base Hotel
We chose Namenlos & Fischerwiege as a base for tours to the surrounding Baltic Sea coast and surroundings. It belongs to the Romantik Hotel group and does live up to this standard. But be aware that the picture that is published in its brochures hides the fact that the hotel has a very large and prominent antennae on the hill directly behind it and that the wonderful pristine beach shown so close to the hotel are actually about a 5 minute walk and across the main road. A little bit deceptive here. Also, the restaurant where the meals are served for the half-board are at a separate building about a 4 minute walk away. All that having been said, the hotel offers amply-sized rooms well-situated for beach access. The food was acceptable and wait staff nice enough. We felt that we had made a good choice for our first visit to the area and would probably stay here again avoiding the more family-oriented, more crowded areas like Zingst. The town has been kept small and natural. It has a history of drawing artists and tries to maintain that even today, avoiding the inflatable beach toys, fast food carts and cheap souvenirs. The surrounding towns offer many interesting diversions ranging from a sanded-in old light house, to an expansive Rhododendron garden, to an Amber museum (the beaches have been known for thousands of years to yield precious amber), to migrating Crane watching (in season) and of course to just plain relaxing on white sandy beaches and swimming. (The ruins of the "Kurhaus" from DDR times can still be seen near the hotel and attest to the fact that Ahrenshoop offers some of the nicest beaches in the area.) Ahrenshoop has several "Hundestrände" (dog beaches) where dogs can romp and play off-leash. A real hit with our dog. There are local fisherman and snack shacks that offer simple, cheap smoked or cooked fresh fish as well as finer restaurants and cafes. We were not wanting for variety. Bicycle tours using the extensive, well-maintained routes are popular and recommended. The various beach towns are interspersed with dense forests and a protected area away from the open sea called the "Bodden". Many waterfowl call this area home and this side away from the open sea lures windsurfers to try their luck. One can still see concrete bunkers from the war near the cliff area by Ahrenshoop, but all in all the beaches are lovely and still a bit wild. In short, an interesting area offering a variety of activities and this hotel proved a good base to explore it.
