It's a shame, but that's the way things go.
On our way south, we made a stopover at the Schlossanger Alp. We have known the house for several years and have also been guests there for several days.
In the meantime, the house has an expanded wellness area, which in our opinion turned out much too large and perhaps also does not really fit into the landscape.
Additionally, a new extension with 6 apartments is being built at the back, which does not fit into the landscape at all.
The service and the restaurant are still good, but the value for money has suffered greatly over the years. The whole thing has to pay off, which we certainly understand. But if we don't get any benefit from all of that, then it doesn't add up. For our dog's overnight stay, we were now allowed to pay double what we paid last time.
All in all, from our point of view, it's a great shame, but perhaps other guests will like it better than we did.

A hotel to feel at home in
Even if it was only a short trip, it was a pleasure to be there again. The warmth of the whole family is unparalleled. We always like coming back, because not only the food - the wine list - the wellness area are always worth a trip!

Overpriced day spa & some flaws
The brand new spa area is beautiful in terms of design, but unfortunately has many shortcomings and is completely overpriced with Euro 80.- for a day admission, which is only valid from 12 pm to 7 pm:
Gym room very small, windowless and hot as the ventilation did not work.
Large beautiful saunas and relaxation areas, but unfortunately not in the sauna area. The outdoor pool is a bit small and there are lots of noisy children in it until 5pm. The whole complex has only 2 toilets! The shower facility is - except for an outdoor shower by the pool - in the textile-free sauna area, which is counterintuitive. The changing rooms for day guests are not gender-segregated and the showers there have glass doors, which allows absolutely no privacy. The mirrors are all unlit, which makes make-up almost impossible. Conclusion: Far too little thought was given to the design of this new facility.
We also booked dinner, which cost us 75.- Euro per person. What was offered was pretty poor: A fixed four-course menu with zero selection. One course was a soup, and due to a food allergy one course was a salad. The main course was bland and overall everything tasted like average hotel cuisine. Not even water was included; that also costs a disproportionate amount at Euro 4.50 for a bottle of tap water. Only the service was very good and friendly.
Conclusion: Spending money on good food is not a problem, but then we expect more. Here the price-performance ratio is not right at all.

Rest and relaxation
Always a place of rest and relaxation, but also of wonderful nature experiences - whether during the hike to the Falkenstein to sunrise or relaxing on the very beautiful sun meadow between hotel and pond. One of our favourite places since 2018.
