Recommended

Good location and beautiful building.
Staff and service very good
The breakfast was excellent; from fresh fruit to many different types of cheese, bakery rolls, and cake, to pickled herring, everything was there.
Small point of criticism: the price for the parking lot, which is located a bit further away, is a bit overpriced at 12 euros per day.
And the rooms on the lower floor are insecure. Ventilating is not possible at any time.

Location of the room and costs for extra services, such as parking, clarify in advance!!

We had booked a double room with breakfast, got a room in the “basement”, which means the room was below street level (in the basement)!! The view of our window was on the legs of pedestrians and on the tires of vehicles parked outside our window!
You could not open the windows because the vehicles blew the exhaust gases into our room. The internet was pretty bad and we couldn't get a connection on the phone!
At check out we were informed that the parking space, which we assumed was included at the time of booking, is extra to pay! The lady at the reception reacted very excitedly and said we should read through the terms of the contract of the booking platform HRS on page 10, it says that the parking space has to be paid extra!!
So far, we have been notified in advance of such extra services, with every hotel booking via other booking platforms!
The positive thing about this hotel, which seems very old and dark, is the location.
We would definitely not book this hotel again and cannot recommend it!

Theft

I was always satisfied with the hotel during my stays. However, I can no longer recommend it. On several evenings, the noise disturbance from the kitchen staff was unbearable until after 10 PM. Complaints were hardly addressed. Furthermore, safety in the hotel is not guaranteed. The premises are accessible to anyone at any time. On the last night, I was robbed while sleeping in my room.

Never again! Not recommended!

Unfriendly staff at the reception and partly in the kitchen, parking not at the hotel, unclean rooms in need of renovation (very small), balconies must be shared with other rooms, breakfast strongly expandable, dog-unfriendly dog hotel.

Very bad experience/ Clean room

It should be a well-deserved, short-term, short stay (2 nights) at the Hotel Stolteraa. After we were there, I took the trouble and read the reviews. Compared to the very negative reviews, we were still lucky with the last available room. You could have called it a caretaker's lodge. To the lady at the front desk, this did not seem necessary for prior clarification. Then we would have booked something else. A very small, dirty room with night light and the room key jammed.
The breakfast staff seemed totally overwhelmed.... A young lady whose name I should not know was particularly "friendly." She thought she had to explain to me how I should behave at the buffet. There was no greeting, no offers of help, a loud and extremely unfounded shouting in front of all guests. I looked and listened to it calmly. After we finally found a free, clean table, she came again to get rid of her frustration.... Loud again and very outrageous. I wish all the people working there joy in their work and good luck. Our memories of this are very lasting. This hotel is not a favourite.
