Friendly welcome and fast handling upon arrival.
The apartments are clean and quiet.
The restaurant is just right for an uncomplicated dinner with good choices.
Also the breakfast buffet offers a good selection so there is something for everyone. Unfortunately, there is not enough space here at peak times.
All in all, we will be happy to come back here anytime.

Price-performance ratio non-existent.
Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here. It was a disappointing stay – and at a steep price. Briefly in advance: We cannot recommend the hotel, because there was no reasonable price-performance ratio here.
We were looking spontaneously for accommodation for two nights, since we wanted to see the Störtebeker Festival and two more people had joined us on short notice. Thus, we were a total of five people.
We had booked a double room and a family room. For the family room, we then had to pay €170 for an "upgrade." However, the whole thing was not explained to us, and the person at the reception was unfortunately not really friendly either. Cash payment was also not possible, which we were only informed about upon arrival, however – furthermore, everything was very curt. That was unfortunately not a particularly nice first impression. At first, we didn't make much of it, however, since we were just happy to spend the weekend together.
Then, however, came one shock after another. Total price: €778.00.
We were almost shocked. Breakfast and the visitor's tax were already included in the price. And here comes the next point: Breakfast cost €15 per person per day. My dad had called the hotel one to two weeks beforehand and asked if I, as a vegan, could also get something for breakfast there. The answer was: No, they only had soy milk available. No problem at all – I'm used to that by now. That's why we brought groceries for me, so that I could at least have something for breakfast too. BUT I still had to pay €30 for breakfast. I didn't expect the price to be waived completely for me, since I did at least get a splash of soy milk and bread rolls. But to charge the full price anyway, even though I had to bring almost everything myself, I find that really outrageous.
After checking in, we first went to the family room to discuss the room layout. At first glance, everything looked fine. The bathroom was large and well-heated. In the front was a double bed (not visible in the pictures), which, however, squeaked with every slightest breath. That's where the two boys slept. In addition, there was a small room with a door, in which there was a bunk bed and where I slept. The door, however, would not close properly, so I had to place my travel bag in front of it so that it at least stayed halfway shut. The chair in this room was completely worn out, and the leather cover was already peeling off over a large area.
We just quickly dropped off our things and then went with our parents to the double room to take a look at it. The double room was a dump – you really can't call it anything else, especially when you consider the price we had to pay for it.
The carpet was completely dirty, as if it hadn't been vacuumed since the last guests. There were crumbs of food scraps and lint lying around everywhere. In the VERY small bathroom, there was mold in the shower, and there was a sliding door made of frosted glass that had open gaps on the right and left – so privacy was zero.
The smoke detector was half dismantled and wires were hanging out. The two bedside lamps to the left and right of the bed were crooked and lopsided. You just didn't have a good feeling. Everything seemed shabby and musty. Because of the rather unfriendly welcome, we also just didn't feel comfortable enough to address the defects directly. Instead, we left the hotel right away to spend the day somewhere else.
When we were back in the evening, I had a little more time to take a closer look at the family room. The floor was really dirty. Because of the gray color, you didn't even notice it at first glance. But here, too, it had obviously not been vacuumed or mopped for a long time. I was really glad that I had slippers with me. To be honest, I just found it disgusting. Dust, crumbs, lint, and who knows what else – it seemed as if only the beds had been freshly made, but otherwise nothing had been cleaned. Even on the bed sheets, there were small black lint or other particles everywhere. The only room that seemed truly clean was the bathroom.
In the evening, we grabbed a drink at the bar. The waiters were all really very nice and very eager to help. We also really liked the covered veranda as well as the many beach chairs outside, where you could sit comfortably. You could also have breakfast there in the morning.
The breakfast, however, was ABSOLUTE chaos! Upon our arrival, we were supposed to sign up on a list for breakfast times with our room number and a time. We therefore assumed that a table would be reserved or at least planned for each room. Several guests had already signed up for our time slot.
When we arrived at the bar or restaurant and the reception (all in one room) in the morning, we were speechless at first. It felt like every hotel guest was there at the same time. That led to problems very quickly, as the area was far too small and eventually there were simply no free tables left. Why we even had to enter our room number and a time is an absolute mystery to us—and apparently to all the other guests as well.
You sometimes had to wipe the tables clean yourself because the staff couldn't keep up at all due to the crowd. It was a crush that no one could help, simply due to the lack of space. The aisles and the entire area were simply far too cramped. That was very uncomfortable and stressful. You could clearly see from the faces and conversations of the other guests that they were also anything but thrilled. You sometimes had to wait a long time for coffee and food items that were already empty, which was a shame, because we actually wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible due to the stressful atmosphere. We really felt sorry for the staff, because that was quite obviously a management problem. The waiters were constantly running around, tried very hard, and were friendly at all times despite everything. Big shout-out to them!
All in all, it was a very disappointing stay for us – especially for this high price. Cleanliness is really the bare minimum for us. We don't expect much at all and are not particularly picky either. But cleanliness is simply a must. We were ultimately glad that we actually only used the hotel for sleeping and were out and about during the day. It is just a real shame. And this stay really hurt our wallets A LOT. We would have gladly paid the price if the service had been appropriate.

Never again
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and would "NEVER" book it again.
First, the positive:
The staff was very friendly and very helpful.
Now the negative:
The rooms are dated, small, and very musty.
The mini-fridge is on the floor under the table (a nightmare for someone with back problems).
The carpet in the entire room has also seen better days, and the bed sheet was torn.
And sleep was hardly possible; the room felt like it was 30 degrees, there was no air conditioning, only a small pedestal fan, and you could not cool the room down in any way or sleep with the window open at night because the main road runs directly in front of the hotel.
The breakfast was an absolute disaster; if you weren't there right at 7 a.m., everything was missing...
Dishes, bread, coffee, cold cuts.....
The boiled eggs were ice cold as if they were from the day before.
The "beach" on the other side of the street was anything but a beach; there were large stones everywhere so that you couldn't even get to the water....
We will not book this hotel again or recommend it to others.

Not recommended
We stayed with friends 1 week at the Hotel Königslinie and did not have a good experience. 2 double rooms, never cleaned, neither bed made (must be registered 1 day in advance), was not cleaned despite registration. The bin was not even emptied during the entire stay. Standard breakfast, with some still dirty cups, where some guests have put away their used dishes themselves, like in a fast food restaurant. Hotel must be paid directly in full on arrival, cash is not accepted. I'm in hotels a lot and I've never experienced anything like this. When we complained, we came under the statement that we can move out if we don't like it. These are statements that a hotel should never make! What did we pay the relatively high room rate for? For a bed and breakfast and the beautiful view?! The beach opposite the hotel, was not a beach but a nesting place for birds that were beautiful to look at. We will not visit this hotel again.

We spent a week at this hotel. With dog (costs 15 €/day) , only in the bungalows. These are very small, although clean, very functionally furnished and incredibly noisy. The room cleaning you have to register the day before until 10 o'clock worked with us only twice. Breakfast is a normal standard breakfast, the same every day and if there is no bread or fruit left you are just out of luck . The dinner we didn't try because the narrowness of the room has already reached us at breakfast. The milk coffee or cappuccino must be paid extra. The outdoor area is very nice, unfortunately right on the road . The staff was very helpful. By and large one of the worst hotels our travels. For one night ok, or for fitters.
