It's over!

The hotel is closed forever. On 12.08.25 and 13.08.25 there was the last opportunity to purchase emotional, helpful or useful items in a hotel flea market.
We have been here often, very often! Know the styles of all rooms, from Gelsenkirchen Baroque with secretary to the fashionable red couples' room.
The hotel was a dream, the staff always TOP, the restaurant always met expectations and the WindRose was always the first port of call on holiday - the tea ceremony and the cakes duty!
2018,2019 certainly let loveless come down. But that was also what they wanted to fix. It's a shame it never came to this.
We miss the hotel on the beach so much. All the best to Mr Manthey and his team, wherever they have ended up in the meantime.

This is a gem!

We were staying here to attend a friend's wedding and we could not have asked for a nicer, cleaner hotel - very helpful staff (my husband asked if it would be possible to have a few artices of clothing laundered - not only did they take care of it, we had it done & delivered to our room on the same day!) Food is excellent. They also made all the arrangements for the wedding, which was held on the beach. Weather was questionable, so they set up a canvas "room" - complete with plastic windows so that the view of the sea wasn't obscured. Chairs, hors deuvres, champagne at the water, and a lovely dinner reception inside. They couldn't have been nicer/friendlier/more helpful!!
What a lovely place-we would return in a NY minute.

Milbenüberfall

Das Personal war sehr nett!!! Die können nichts dafür!!!
Es waren Milben im Zimmer, überall
an den Wänden an den Gardinen!!!
Mein Mann hatte diese auf dem Kopf(ich dachte Läuse)haben in der Apotheke Zeug geholt!!!
Die wollten uns ein neues Zimmer
geben, der Chef meinte kriegen Sie
Schon in den Griff!!! Wir wollten nicht!!! Im 4. Stock keine Milben?

wir bedauern sehr, dass Sie nach dem Schreck, die kleinen Tierchen entdeckt zu haben, spontan abgereist sind. Gerne hätten wir Ihnen ein anderes Zimmer gegeben, so dass Sie Ihren Aufenthalt entspannt hätten fortsetzen können. Die Natur mit ihren Wiesen, dem Strand und dem Wattenmeer, den geschützten Vogelarten ist unserem Hotel sehr nah, was manchmal überraschen kann. Wir hoffen, Sie hatten bis zu Ihrer Abreise schöne Urlaubstage bei uns.

Das geht sicher anders...

1 Woche Urlaub an der Nordsee, trotz Corona... Aber das Hotel hat so seine nennen wir es Eigenarten: Die Einrichtung der Zimmer inkl. der Qualität des Bettes ging vielleicht in den 80iger Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts noch durch, aber heute nicht mehr. KEIN WLAN im Hotel! Keine Hilfe bei diesem Problem. Keine Zimmereinigung, aber auch keine Preissenkung wegen dem schlechteren Service. Frühstück sehr gut, Personal freundlich.

Gefreut haben wir uns aber auch über alle Bemerkungen zu Dingen, die nicht so gut gewesen sind, über Wünsche und Ideen. Wir haben alle Rückmeldungen gesammelt und werden uns in der Ruhezeit des Hotels Zeit nehmen, Ihren Anregungen entsprechend einiges zu ändern.

Kein WLAN und Frühstück im Chaos

Zimmer war sauber aber hellhörig , in Standardgröße mit Balkon aber abgewohnt. WLAN gibt es nur in der Lobby. Heutzutage ein absolutes NoGo! Frühstück wird in zwei Zeitfenstern angeboten. Wir kamen zum ersten Zeitfenster, wurden aber wieder weggeschickt weil der Raum voll war. Da frage ich mich warum man überhaupt zwei Zeitfenster für das Frühstück einrichtet? Nachdem wir reklamiert hatten, kam eine lapidare Ausrede von der Dame an der Rezeption. Keine Entschuldigung. Das Personal im Frühstücksraum war auch absolut überfordert. Schmutzige Teller wurden nicht abgeräumt. Der Quark und Milch waren nicht beschriftet, der Obstsalat war aus der Dose und das frische Obst in der Schale nach 5 Min. vergriffen. Nachgefüllt wurde auch immer erst auf Nachfrage. Wir werden dort nicht mehr absteigen.
