Simple but good hotel!

The hotel is well licensed on the second floor of a building. At first glance it looks weird and somewhat old, but it has good maintenance and is very well located. It is a simple 3 stars, with spacious rooms and all clean. Good internet and good breakfast.

Central location, but rooms need some upgrade

I have stayed at this hotel several times for business. The location is good, parking is free behind the house, and breakfast is also decent.
The rooms however are in old style, nothing seems to have ever been renovated since its existence, the same goes for the bathrooms. Also in summer it can get quite hot in the rooms.
Altogether it is ok considering the good price, although for the same price there are better (more modern) options in the area.

Nah, give it a miss

Stayed here for one night whilst away on business.
The hotel is part of a much larger building and is on the second floor. There is off road parking to the rear.
The hotel is clean and tidy but rather basic and dated in terms of furniture and decor.
In the room there was a reasonable TV and minibar. Wifi was free and good enough to stream in HD. The bed was OK but had the usual crappy German-style 'puff-of-wind' collapsing pillow (damn things are everywhere and are like using a pillowcase instead of a pillow!).
The bathroom was not great, especially as the bath and taps intermittently produced brown water and the bath took forty minutes to fill.
I guess I could've changed rooms but I was tired and just couldn't be bothered. In any case, you shouldn't need to!
Didn't stop for breakfast as I had an early flight.
Don't think I'll be going back.

Charming in its own way, but everything was a bit cramped

This is a hotel in the center of Schongau, which is an old, walled city. But what you gain with its central location you give up in elbowroom at the hotel. The reception is on the second floor and is small, the hallway is narrow, and although the rooms make the most of available space, it's still cramped. The staff was courteous and efficient, the rooms were clean with a view of the street below. Breakfast was fine.

Large, clean rooms and central location

The Roessle is in the historic old city of Schongau, albeit a lift up from the street in a rather incongruous setting. However, there's an underground car park and the staff were excellent. The rooms were large and clean with really comfortable beds and free Wifi.
The main square is a five minute walk away, with cafes and shops, and the views out of our window over the old city were heart warming. It was very quiet and peaceful. There are several ATMs close by and breakfast was tasty, once I worked out how to use the three step coffee machine.
