Charming hotel with lovely staff

We came to the Heidelberg area to visit friends and wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Heidelberg on the weekend. We made an excellent choice. We enjoyed a comfortable room with a balcony sitting area overlooking the castle grounds. It is in a quiet neighborhood, a close walk to the castle and restaurants. We woke to the sound of birds singing!
The staff was friendly and gracious and happy to assist.
The breakfast room was gorgeous, and we had a full breakfast with scrambled eggs, cappuccino, fresh fruit, a variety of cheeses and a choice of juices. We couldn't ask for more. The Italian restaurant is next door, by the same owner, but unfortunately was booked on the weekend. (a sign it is popular) I highly recommend it.

There is an Italian restaurant right underneath and attached to the hotel therefore, depending on their opening times it’s pretty noisy.

Cozy conviviality

The rooms are basic but very well cared for.
Breakfast is very good and one personally comes to ask to make an egg, or fried egg, or bacon with eggs for you.
Unfortunately no elevator, but the hotel has only 3 floors. I was sitting on the second and a very easy staircase leads you to your room. No annoying electronic key but a simple key will help you get your room open. So you don't have to insert a card into a device.

Have a nice stay

I have already stayed at this hotel twice and was very satisfied each time. The service was very friendly and courteous. The attractively renovated rooms are very clean and comfortable.
In addition to the central location, the hotel offers excellent value for money.
We had dinner in the very good Italian restaurant belonging to the hotel.
For an overnight stay in Schwetzingen, no other hotel would come into question for me.

Look for better

Luckily the mattresses and pillows were soft and quite comfortable. Very small reception. The room on the first floor can be reached via a very narrow and steep staircase. Very tiring to go up with the suitcases. The guy didn't help me even though I'm of a certain age. The small and very hot room with a balcony overlooking a small car park.
