In the middle of the Thuringian Forest

We have been guests at the Thomas Müntzer Hotel & Restaurant several times at the weekend and feel comfortable every time. We used to know the senior manager – to this day, the whole family is still working on what you can see from the friendly and open hospitality.
In the evening there is good food in the restaurant, the hotel itself is quiet and a little lower. The rooms are fine; when the window is open it can get a little noisier at night due to traffic, but this is of course not due to the hotel.
The breakfast is solid and rounds off the stay pleasantly. Overall a very family-run house, to which we would like to come back.

Lecker Abendessen

Waren Samstags Abends zum Essen dort. Es ist eine einfache aber freundliche Gaststätte. Bei uns gabs Schnitzel mit Setzei von der Karte und Entenkeule mit Klos von der Tageskarte. Beides hat gut geschmeckt. Die Preise sind angemessen. Der Service war gut.

Sehr leckere Hausmannskost

Wir waren zum Mittagessen in der Gaststube.
Da eher Kaffee-Zeit war, waren wir die einzigen Gäste. Wir hatten das Tagesangebot und konnten uns über ein sehr leckeres Essen freuen.
Der Wirt war freundlich, und der Gastraum urig einreichtet. Auch ein Hochstuhl fürs Baby stand zur Verfügung.

2. weihnachtsessen

Beim ersten Mal hatte ich Zander der recht schmackhaft und auch einen netten Preis hatte. Nun, beim 2. Besuch dieser Lokalität, hatte ich den chefsalat. Schon mal bei Wikipedia nachgesehen was ein chefsalat ist? Also DAS war keiner. Bohnen aus dem Glas, Maiskolben aus dem Glas etc siehe Bild. Nachtisch war Eierkuchen mit Apfelmus. Die haben zwar geschmeckt und für den Preis waren sie auch ok, aber ich befürchte das auch diese aus der Konserve waren. Der Kaiserschmarren soll sehr lecker gewesen sein sowie auch das Eis. Die Hähnchenbrust mit Fritten konnten auch zu Hähnchenbrust mit Kroketten umarrangiert werden die mit etwas Salat garniert war, fiel, ohne jegliche Soße leider sehr trocken aus. Der Hirsch mit Rotkraut, Klößen und Soße wurde als sehr lecker beschrieben. Das Personal letztlich ware freundlich, aber irgendwie sehr „still“. Kurzum: Um während des Wanderns mal schnell eine Stärkung zu sich zu nehmen durchaus in Ordnung.

Komfortabler als erwartet

Sehr ruhige und "urige" Unterkunft. Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer, das Bett war sehr bequem und die Bettdecke schön groß. Das Bad scheint mir vor kurzem erst neu gemacht worden zu sein - sehr gut. Auch das Essen fand ich gut.
Alles in allem dem Preis und der Kategorie angemessen.
