A bit of a mess, information on the Hotels. website does not correspond to the actual situation, you come to a closed door where there is a phone number to call, it is just not answered when you call, We walked around the town of Soltau, it is very nice, so the wait for someone to show up at the reception passed easily. WiFi was non-existent and completely unusable, There is room for improvement on all parameters. Pet friendly is a big plus.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in!

The hotel is old, the rooms run down.
Moddy smell, mold in the bathroom, mattresses old and worn out, bed creaks, dirt everywhere in the room (carpet, curtains, lampshade, mattresses, pillows etc.)
Bathroom ancient, mold on walls and ceiling, moldy joints in the shower, tiles broken everywhere, terrible smell,
Towels are ancient rags, semi-transparent, drying with it is an imposition (as is the entire hotel)!
The mattresses have no mattress protectors and disgusting stains, really disgusting.
So are the old feather pillows, which are full of saliva stains of strangers. Disgusting!
Room extremely noisy, no smoke detectors in the room, causing some to smoke in the room. Cigarette stench then moves across the stairwell into all rooms.
Staff you don't get to see, unfriendly, short-bound.
Couldn't tell the boss that she should be ashamed of this cashmere and the high price for the night!

Decent choice for a short stay

We stayed here for two nights for a visit to Heide Park. It's an old hotel indeed, bit of a dark room in our case but adequate if you just need a clean place to sleep and take a shower. We stayed in a two-person bedroom and had enough space for the two of us. Sound did travel through the halls but luckily our fellow guests weren't rowdy. Also appreciated the little fan that was already available in the room, since it was very hot when we visited. Breakfast had decent variety, with scrambled eggs, cornflakes, charcuterie, jams, fruits etc... Staff was very polite too.
Only slight annoyance we experienced was that there are clearly more rooms available than guest parking spots, meaning we always had to park a few streets down, since we arrived late both evenings and by that time there were no spots left. So unless you're lucky enough that only few guests are staying there or you arrive early, you may end up having to park in the nearby residential area instead. Bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage.
Would recommend unless you're really picky about where you are staying.

Internet not working and weird smell in the rooms

Booked a couple of rooms as we were going to Heide Park. The rooms were quite big but they had a bad smell like an old Sommer house and also the toilet smelled like wet dog.
We opened a window and it helped. My teenager could not get the free Wi-Fi to work so I went to reception and got help. Turned out it only worked when standing in reception.
I told the reception and they said they would look into it, but they did not fix it.
Beds are two single with old heavy duvets.
So even if the price was in the low end we were not satisfied. Did not use the restaurant.

Cheap overnight stay in 80s style

Pension/hotel in 80s style with carpeted floors and bathrooms in Evergreen... a bit worn but clean... super cheap in terms of price! The restaurant in the hotel is also cheap for acceptable quality. Definitely OK for a short stay or on a tight budget!
