Really the Second Home feeling hit
We stayed in February 2026 for a little winter break at this hotel in the country house as it was designated as dog friendly. That's right! Already at the very nice reception we felt comfortable. The large lounge with fireplace and cuddly sofa was cozy. All the staff we met were nice and accommodating. Dogs were allowed in the restaurant, only at the breakfast buffet not, which is understandable, because of the open food. The breakfast buffet was very good and northern German.
The rooms are very harmoniously decorated in northern Germany. The bathroom is half open, the toilet extra and with door. The shower has a large rain shower. Large dispensers, with pleasant lemony-fresh fragrance, with shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, hand soap and body lotion are available.
The spa area is It is not quite cheap, but in our opinion worth every penny! Unfortunately for the booked dog there were no treats or dog blanket, bowl or anything. Maybe do a little touching up here?

"Second home" ? ...only second choice for us
Great disillusionment after the experience of 5 nights: Double room "Grosse Stube für Geniesser", well, big is relative. Bath/shower without a door may be modern, but completely pointless. Toilet for door is OK (or normal ?). The room is still constrained by a bulky 4-sofa (in a 2-person double room...? ) and 2 equally bulky coffee tables. Together with a dog sleeping pillow, this will be quite tight. Seating would then be provided by the bed if the mattress were not deeper than the bed frame, one would then sit on the board edge. After reservation (whatever) we have the rest once. Pesel visited, except our waiter Max Bohn ( very quick, friendly and attentive ) was nothing overly positive, but is OK if you don't come with too high expectations - but that would like to be seen. But we remembered the "poison booth" for self-catering the most: you sit very nicely in a spacious lounge and enjoy homemade drinks and a home-mixed Aperol Spritz or Lillet, a "nice" idea - but do you want it that way ??? We would also have liked to be served at a cozy bar friendly - cozy and lazy relaxing it is so, in the holidays, not.

Delicious brunch
So that we do not have to wash everything in the house before our departure, we had brunch at the "Dining Room" in the Hotel Zweite Heimat.
Everything was delicious and sufficient, and for the price, there is nothing to complain about.

Great holiday
Beautifully located in the north of SPO in Ording is the hotel in Ording. You have 2 houses where the rooms are distributed plus you have sauna and 2 restaurants which are great. Breakfast is mega and you have a stop as well as parking close by.

What a beautiful, dreamlike place—truly a second home
What a beautiful, dreamlike place—truly a second home! The hotel offers so many cozy spots to relax, each designed with incredible attention to detail and thoughtful extras like blankets, cushions, and inviting seating areas both indoors and outdoors. It’s genuinely impressive how the wonderful team maintains such a high level of quality and cleanliness, despite the harsh, salty, and often wet North Sea climate literally right outside the front door.
The spa area is creative and inviting, the breakfast is excellent, and the fireplace lounge has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. We especially loved the sense of trust—whether at the small self-service bars on each floor or the “Giftbude”—it really feels like one's big "second home". Just one that happens to be right by the vast, stunning beach of St. Peter-Ording :-)
