Christmas Market Ambiente

This nice and cozy Hotel ist Positionen right in the middle of the Christmas Market in Straubing. But nothing to worry , the booths closed around 20:30 and we had a good night sleep. The room was spotless and already warmed Up upon our arrival.
Breakfast was plenty and the owner's very friendly and helpful. The Seethaler is right in the pedestrian Zone in the old part of the town and all important Shops Like Pharmacies, Restaurants and Fashion Shops are around you. Would come Back any time

Well-situated comfortable old hotel

Comfortable old hotel on the central square of attractive Straubing. Reached by stairs down a side alley off the square. Our room was spacious and quiet - no issue with church bells through the night, as is often the case in this part of the world. Traditional Bavarian restaurant downstairs. Good buffet breakfast. Parking behind the hotel. As often in the German-speaking world, the hotel rooms and reception area (but not the charming restaurant) were over-renovated to the point where they had lost any antique patina. Nevertheless recommended.

Pretty perfect!

8 members of our family stayed here for one night during the Gäubodenvolksfest and we were all very impressed. The hotel is a family business and has a nice feel to it. It is a very impressive building from the outside and in the perfect location, close to the train station, close to the Gäubodenvolksfest and directly in the pedestrian shopping zone (also very beautiful!). The rooms were clean and quite spacious, had Wi-Fi and all amenities and beds were comfy. Breakfast was vast and of good quality and service was very sweet. The only thing that bothered us slightly was that some very inebriated people kept walking past all night and made some of us wake up but that is not the hotel's fault and probably to be expected at the 2nd biggest beer festival in Germany. We'd happily stay here again.

Quiet and dark, with WiFi, check, check, check

What do I want in a hotel? Silence, darkness and free WiFi. This hotel has all three, while being in the centre of a pleasant Bavarian town, with nice restaurants and so on.
The room itself was not huge, but it faced the courtyard and was silent, despite a rally in the main street for Alternative für Deutschland (all too reminiscent of Bavaria in 1932, sadly.)
Breakfast was good and the whole thing pleasant and good value. There is a car park at the back.

Nice hotel in a lovely town

This hotel is comfortable and pleasant. It has a very good location on the main square, private parking and clean rooms. Naturally, there is no AC in this medieval building, so be prepared for a sultry night when the weather is warm.
