This hotel ín central Stuttgart is just a 3-minute walk from the Königstraße shopping boulevard and a 25-minute drive from the new trade fair and airport. The family-run Wilhelm Designhotel Stuttgart-Mitte's quiet rooms were renovated in April 2011.

Cute hotel in a very convenient location!!
Local family...that’s standard for the area. Not even the restaurants have AC. That being said, it was a hot night. We couldn’t leave the windows open bc the World Cup had just finished and everyone was celebrating in the streets nearby and honking their horns...had we been able to leave the windows open it would’ve been nice as the temp in the evenings were quite cool. It was clean and comfortable and they even left us Haribo gummy bears on our pillows! We would stay here again!

Do not bother. Go elsewhere!
Accessibility is an issue. The property has 5 floors but only 4 are served by the elevator. Lighting within the corridors was problematic and needs improving. Keys were old style. The rooms themselves are more akin to what one might expect to find within a hostel. They are dated, poorly maintained and the bed was very uncomfortable. Unlike other reviewers, I had no issues with cleanliness. Staff attitude was poor and obstructive. No real attempt to engage with me over the accessibility issue, which was not well advertised in advance.
The issues, in their totality, were such that I simply checked out early. Enough was enough.
In conclusion, go elsewhere. The property is nothing more than an overpriced disappointment.

Very sparse, budget hotel in an expensive and unattractive city
The room was extremely small, the beds narrow and not especially comfortable. The bathroom was very small and a good deal more functional than luxurious. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet, included in the cost of the room, was, in the German style, large and very tasty. I've always wondered why American hotels can't have something comparable.
Most of the guests seemed to be German business travelers, and if you are a business traveler on a budget, this would be an acceptable location. If you're not, you should remember the saying, "The best thing about Stuttgart is the Autobahn to Munich."
