Very friendly staff. Despite our very late arrival the owner of the establishment ensured me I could call him and he would assist us on the check-in. Very large, cosy and comfortable rooms. Plenty parking availability. I warmly recommend this hotel for both business travellers as tourists.

Great hotel in beautiful nature

A beautifully situated hotel on the edge of the village. On one side the village of Tanne, on the other side the beautiful nature of the Harz area begins.
Nice spacious room with a somewhat creaky floor.
Room is nice and clean. The hotel location is excellent, nice and quiet.
Good extensive breakfast in the morning. In the evening a three-course menu is served. You can indicate your choice in the morning.
You can enjoy nice walks in the area. With the guest card you can travel for free on the bus. Please note, once every hour during the week, once every two hours during the weekends.
Staff is friendly and helpful.
Hotel is definitely recommended.

Couldn't be bettered!

We stayed here for a week and loved it. The rooms were spacious, and decorated and furnished to a high standard. We had both breakfast and dinner in the hotel and both were really excellent, much better than we’ve had in hotels in the same price range (and higher). For dinner we had three courses every evening and for the main course chose from three options in the morning – we were never disappointed, it was all really delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely couple who run the hotel and they made it a really memorable stay. Only negative I can think of is that the floors were a bit creaky which seemed amplified on a trip to the loo in the night. But overall, you won’t do better for a hotel in the Harz.

Fantastic location - lovely host!

We stayed in the Naturstammhaus Apartments adjacent to the Zum Brokenbaeker Hotel.
Lovely location away from everything - total peace & quite with views over open countryside and woodland.
Great for visiting Harz Moutains which has great hiking areas. The towns of Wernigerode and Quedlingburg are a must for a visit.
It helps to speak German as much of this area is in the former East Germany where English was not taught in the schools. Many local restaurants do not have English menus.
Maren the host was very helpful and welcoming.

Herrliche Ruhe!
