Beautiful hotel to switch off – with small criticisms
Landhaus Stricker is a beautifully renovated hotel with lots of style and very high-quality facilities.
Already on arrival you feel directly welcome: The staff are extremely accommodating and the service overall at a high level. Our junior suite was very spacious, tastefully decorated and equipped with many amenities – perfect for arriving and relaxing directly.
The wellness area is stylish and cosy. Especially the large swimming pool as well as the two saunas and the steam bath invite you to relax. Also the outdoor area is very nicely landscaped and pleasantly quiet, although the hotel is close to a main thoroughfare.
The breakfast is really versatile and leaves little to be desired. In addition to a rich buffet, hot drinks, egg dishes and smaller dishes such as Friesian bread or Nuremberg sausages can be ordered à la carte. However, here is a small criticism: The service seemed a bit inattentive and overwhelmed in places. Orders were occasionally forgotten or served incorrectly – a pity for a house of this category.
Another small minus: There is no pillow bar and the existing pillows were a bit too thin for our taste. In addition, a bicycle storage room or at least a possibility for safe parking and loading of bicycles on Sylt would be desirable.
Conclusion: A great, stylish hotel with very friendly staff around Holger Bodendorf. With small prints in detail – but overall definitely a clear recommendation. We would definitely come back!

No 5 star level
We stayed for a long weekend at Landhaus Stricker. We expect more from a 5 star hotel, some of which we have already visited. You can disagree about the decor and style, that's a matter of taste, but even the reception at a rather "dreary" reception with artificial flower decoration put us off rather. The rooms are decorated very dark, the curtains dark brown. We had a room on the ground floor with direct views from the parking lot. So if you don't want to be disturbed, you have to close the dark curtains even in broad daylight. In November maybe not quite so tragic, nevertheless "gloomy" and in the summer I don't like to imagine that. The decor is modern, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very nice. What we lacked most of all is the warmth and the feeling of being welcomed and perceived as a guest. A "teeny-bitty" welcome drink, for example, which is meant honestly, would work much better than a bottle of wine in the room as a "welcome gift at the expense of the house" (cost of the flat 2.97 euros at net, this is embarrassing for such a house). Breakfast was at most mediocre: torn apart into two areas, with no explanations of the food (what kind of jam? what kind of juice?). On request from the waiter, he had to inform himself in the kitchen what it was. Dinner at the restaurant Seventeen84 was delicious. The location of the hotel is rather off the beaten track and then directly on the main road. For us the stay OK but unfortunately nothing special. We won't be back.
