A good location if you want something away from the city center, but be prepared for a very quiet and suburban neighborhood. Easy walking distance to the S-Bahn station though. Staff were all very kind and helpful, my room was very clean and big. My only issue with the room was the bed. It was hard as a rock, and I usually like a firm mattress but this was HARD. Pillows and duvet all head feathers with was very warm and personally not my favorite. Breakfast was pretty good, nice selection of bread, toppings, fruits, hot items etc. For a breakfast that was included with the stay, I was very happy with it.

Fraudulent hotel charges on my credit card.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Hotel Lechnerhof in Munich. When checking out on September 30, 2025, I clearly stated that I was leaving Room 120, yet the hotel later charged me for a second room (Room 133) that I never stayed in. The invoice (#216552, dated September 28, 2025) was entirely in German, and as a non-German speaker, I was never told about the additional room charge or asked to confirm it in English.
After I followed up, Mr. Daniel Saint-Memaint (Front Desk) admitted in writing that a mistake had been made and confirmed that a refund would be processed. However, they asked me to send my full credit card number and expiry date by email — which is unsafe and a clear violation of proper data handling standards. I refused, explaining that it wasn’t secure, and said I would only provide the details by phone.
When I later gave my card details by phone to the Assistant Manager, Mr. Branislav Aleksic, he confirmed that he had written them down and would issue the refund. Immediately afterward, he said he needed two more days to “investigate” the matter. After that, the hotel stopped responding entirely — despite repeated follow-up emails over the next week.
As of October 11, 2025, no refund has been made, and no transaction reference has been provided. I now feel I was misled into revealing my private credit card information under false pretenses. This conduct raises serious concerns about data protection and honesty and may breach German and EU data protection law (GDPR).
To make matters worse, when I mentioned the signed check-in form showing only Room 120, I was told over the phone that “it wasn’t a contract” — which is completely false, as I personally signed it at check-in.
This experience was unprofessional, unsafe, and unacceptable. I will be filing formal complaints with the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform, German consumer protection authorities, and my credit-card issuer.
I strongly urge other travelers to review invoices carefully, keep copies of signed documents, and never provide credit card details via email or phone to this property.

Not family friendly – disappointing stay

We chose this hotel to spend a quiet weekend with the family near Munich. Unfortunately, the stay did not meet expectations in many respects.
The welcome was anything but friendly at check-in. The gentleman at the reception made a very unkempt and annoyed impression. To simple questions he reacted sometimes very puny.
It was also noticeable that e-cigarette smoke was perceptible in the reception area – although not openly smoked, the smell and visible smoke left little doubt about it.
What particularly irritated us: We watched the receptionist consume beer together with staff from the kitchen – during working hours. Shortly afterwards, there was loud shouting in the reception area and aggressive behaviour, which was very uncomfortable for us and especially our children.
Unfortunately, no positive impression was to be gained at breakfast either: The area was not thoroughly cleaned, the floor stuck and the staff worked without gloves with food.
Overall, we did not feel like we were in a family-friendly or professionally run hotel.
For families with children we cannot recommend this establishment in its current form.

The ONLY reason they did not get five stars is that it is somewhat chaotic in the am. Housekeepers are milling about and people are toting suitcases down the stairs. Walls are very thin, so I got woken up about 7.
But ambience and food and location in regards to arena were excellent!

Very nice hotel

Stayed there for one night, twice already. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is good and check-in and check-out is very quick. The friendly staff deserves special mention. Overall, the Lechnerhof is recommendable and I would stay there again.
