Pure well-being

I felt very comfortable with Elisa and Gerrit. A fine, small hotel with dedicated and warm hosts! The relaxed and high-quality breakfast by menu was a great start to the day. I'll be back!

Miserable value for money

- Lack of cleanliness in the bathroom: dirty joints on tiles, shower cubicle and windows (possibly mold), yellow discoloration on the toilet seat, stains in the closet (see photos)
- Room looked worn: e.g. scratched, stained floor (see photos)
- Several silverfish in the bathroom + bedroom already on the 1st Evening, which we mentioned at check-out; in the aftermath, outrageously, we were indirectly blamed by email arguing that we did not use housekeeping during our 3-day stay, as if this had changed anything about the vermin infestation
- Extremely clairvoyant: e.g. toilet visits of neighbors were clearly audible
- No blackout curtains
- Positive were the good breakfast and the nice breakfast staff

A perfect stay — nothing to add, nothing to take away

We stayed at Jaumann's Südwind from August 4 to 8, and it genuinely exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was flawless.
The hotel is immaculately clean, the small garden at the back charming, they have a number of electric bikes to rent, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful without ever being intrusive. The owners gave us wonderful recommendations for the area, and every single suggestion was spot on.
Breakfast deserves a special mention. The concept of multiple small portions is brilliant, you try everything, waste nothing, and leave satisfied rather than stuffed. And not a piece of single-use plastic in sight. It's rare to see a hotel walk the talk on sustainability so naturally and elegantly.
This is the kind of place where you feel genuinely looked after. The attention to detail, the calm atmosphere, the thoughtfulness behind every little decision was great.
We'll be back. Warmly recommended to anyone looking for a truly refined and human experience on Sylt.

wonderful hideaway

we spent really super nice days with Elisa and Gerrit in the Jaumanns Südwind. Our room was quite small, but the space was optimally used, so we felt totally comfortable here. The big deal is breakfast, you can order whatever you want from the extensive menu and every day there are still 3 specials we have always been looking forward to the night before. Also the friendly service at breakfast we liked very much, thank you for that!
There is also a trust-based gourmet bar, which we greatly appreciate. So you can still take a small dip in the wonderful garden behind the house if necessary. We can only warmly recommend Jaumanns Südwind! We are looking forward to our next stay here!

Wonderful days in a wonderful hotel

Our stay at Jaumanns's Südwind was a treat all around! Starting with a warm welcome we felt completely comfortable on every day. In addition to the warm and attentive care, the extensive and unusual breakfast is particularly noteworthy. Whoever gets to start the day with it can't have a bad day! That every day after we returned from breakfast to the room, everything was already cleaned and fixed up, we were very pleased. We say thank you very much for this lovely stay!
