My 50th birthday
I had decided to celebrate my 50th birthday in Willingen. While I was looking around to find a place which could accommodate my 50 guest and offer also breakfast and dinner, I found this place. It was perfect for my birthday party weekend with my family and friend. Everybody in the hotel was very friendly, the food was amazing and we all occupied the bar for two nights. We loved it.
It definitely exceeded my expectations. We all won’t forget it.

I had booked one of the renovated rooms and was well satisfied with it. The room had an appealing, modern furnishing and nice size. The bathroom was a bit small but also renovated.
I had chosen the Sporthotel zum hoch Eimberg as a mountain biker in the hope of meeting like-minded people there. Unfortunately far from it. The average age at the hotel is quite high. That's how I imagine it in an old people's home. Those who were still there with bicycles mostly rode touring bikes. In addition, the chef made extensive fun of downhill bikes and their riders in the dining room in the evening. When you ride a bike like that you don't think it's nice. The kitchen was not so great. I had booked half board for the extra charge of 32,50€ per day for this there was buffe. The choice of dishes and their preparation corresponds to those of the 1970s. There were no vegetarian or vegan dishes, even on demand. The spa area was ok for the hotel size. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful.
I'm not going to book the hotel again.

Recommended with small limitations
We have been to the "Hohe Eimberg" again. Our room and especially the bathroom we like. (renovated)
The breakfast buffet and the dinner are good. My lactose intolerance was taken into account in the food.
in the sauna area, the deckchairs are already ageing and could be renewed. The hot tub was unfortunately broken. In the sauna area there were
e.g. T. no shower gel.
In previous years there was always a welcome drink that we missed this time. On reference to this, we still got a voucher.

Nice hotel but without flair!
The renovated room was very stylish but unfortunately little storage space. The two-door closet much too small, as the safe, blankets, bathrobes were still accommodated. Just a table, luggage rack and tiny bedside tables without a drawer. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast buffet was ok, but the dinner buffet was very unimaginative and unpalatable. Every evening 2 main courses on offer, fish or meat! Salad and starter buffet was quite ok. Unfortunately, too few trained staff were present, only auxiliary staff who could hardly speak German.
Unfortunately, the large dining room was also very uncomfortable, the tables in line, as in the train station. No decoration, the light much too bright. You could make much more of it!! The bar, on the other hand, just the opposite, cozy and a super friendly and competent barmaid!!
The well area still very nice, however, there was only 1 sauna towel that you had to bring from the room.
Very annoying was also, there were no competent contact staff! And if you caught someone, you got a pretty arrogant answer! Especially strange we found the interim cleaning of the rooms, if the beds were to be made, you had to register this in the reception, we have never experienced this!

Flair of a truck stop
We stayed there for a few days. The whole thing was a kind of stopgap measure for relatively little money. So you can just about give it 3 stars. The breakfast was good. However, only 20% of the places were occupied. If all of them are occupied, the kitchen and the buffet are probably completely overwhelmed in terms of capacity. The evening meal was miserable, if there was even enough in the warming bowls. It just about met the standard of a mediocre motorway service station. Some of the service staff consisted of completely untrained assistants who were not afraid to clear away over the heads of guests who were still eating.
Although it can be said that the majority of the employees were very nice.
The hotel itself, in rustic 70s standard, is in desperate need of renovation.
