Good service at reception and restaurant, good food, relatively small rooms but for a short stay OK, free parking at the hotel great, at the optimal

Ambiance and breakfast top, room flop
Appointment in Wuppertal. Where to stay? Waldhotel Eskeshof! Enough parking spaces are available. The hotel conveys a forest lodge ambiance at first glance. Quite appealing. With a swimming pool, bar, restaurant, and nicely quiet. But the room, oh dear. I felt like Harry Potter under the stairs. Small and very cramped, basement level, without air conditioning.
The breakfast room and the breakfast, however, smoothed out the overall impression a bit.

Investment backlog
With a 4 star hotel and a correspondingly high price, we expected significantly more. We were not welcomed but had to look for the responsible gentleman in the kitchen ; the room on the 1st floor was very small and old ; the bed for two people very narrow ; the breakfast at € 14,- reasonable ...

Acoustic horror night
We had one night stay at Waldhotel Eskeshof. It was not possible to keep the night's sleep. There was a structural fault, which was noticeable by a loud, uniform, tapping sound. My child and I woke up as a result and were unable to fall asleep afterwards because the noise pollution ran almost continuously from 02:00 at night to 08:00 in the morning. When we wanted to freshen up in the morning, hotel staff also came to the room unsolicited. At checkout we shared the facts with the reception and played the sound recording we created during the noise pollution. Since it is not legally and practically a trifle, we hoped for a reasonable discount for the acoustic “horror night”. The reception behaved unfortunately little understanding and gave us a discount of only 10.00 euros. We would not have expected such a fuzzy reaction from a 4-star hotel. At least one coffee could have been offered as a wake-up call for the ride home. We are very disappointed with Waldhotel Eskeshof and will not book it again.

Standard hotel for weekend Wuppertal
Waldhotel Eskeshof is a normal hotel in a quiet location on the edge of the forest. Rooms are normal and breakfast is extensive. The wellness facilities are a plus, but here is an important tip for future guests:
Please note that the swimming pool is occupied by a swimming school on Sunday mornings. As a hotel guest, you cannot actually use the bath at that time. This is not clearly indicated everywhere, which is a great pity if you are looking forward to a relaxing morning swim. So check the times at the reception in advance to avoid disappointment. Furthermore, a great stay, but communication about the facilities could be better.
