Aquila Elounda Village lies on the shore of the Mirabello Bay in the beautiful fishing village resort of Elounda. Calm, peaceful, welcoming, and luxurious
What an amazing holiday. Stunning resort. Clean and well maintained. The food and.drink was exceptional. The team from management (Mauikios and Haris ) restaurant team in Mirabello and the Symposium (Nikos, Konstantinos, Micholas, Anastasia, Leo and chefs) along with concierge (Marina B) and housekeeping (Shpresa S) absolutely completed a fabulous stay and are a true credit to the resort and the brand. Efcharisto to you all.

Incredibly relaxing with stunning views
Ben & I are sadly on our last day in this incredible resort.
From the minute we arrived to now the service has been outstanding especially Konstantino in the restaurants. He is an asset to the resort, always smiling, working hard and remembering our preferences, he really has gone above and beyond and we would really like him to receive some rocognition!
The resort itself is incredibly clean, all staff very attentive and the facilities are world class. Food exemplary!!
Also we would like to thank Lizzy in the watersports/dive shop! Lizzy, fellow Brit, hilarious!
One thing that would have been perfect would be if there was waiter service down on the dock/beach for drinks throughout the day, other than that cannot fault the resort.
We’ve had the best week and would highly recommend this resort to everyone! Thanks for an amazing experience, can’t wait to come back :)

Great location for a 2 weeks stay. Excellent resort, especially the food quality and choice, and superb hotel staff.
We spent 2 lovely weeks from the UK at this adults only resort from 18th April after booking the Mythica package with half board through Jet2Holidays, which included flights from/to East Midlands and coach transfers (which all went smoothly.) The location is by the sea on Mirabella bay which has great views of the islands and Elounda village - we could see the causeway to Kalydon island from our terrace. Our suite included a shared pool which was essentially private as there were screens at the sides between the rooms. The pool side had loungers plus chairs and a table. The water in the pool cycled over its edge and was cleaned daily so it was very clean but quite cool, not least as it was early in the season but very refreshing on the hotter days in the first week. The bedroom was of good size with sliding glass door on to the terrace and had a separate bathroom with both bath and shower, and a hallway with substantial wardrobe space. Room staff came up to twice a day if needed.
The facilities at the resort were excellent including spa, indoor pool & sauna, a large bar, and 4 different places to eat. We didn't use room service but this was available for all meals with a small flat rate at inclusive mealtimes.
We were very happy to go half board. The main restaurant was used for the buffet style breakfast and dinners which we had included with our half board (drinks including water extra at dinner, with good choice of wines (including reasonably priced Cretian red white or rose by the glass). The quality and choice was excellent with Greek & Cretian specialities, even more so as it was Easter.
Breakfast had an amazing selection of cold and hot food with specialities such as spoon sweets and mountain tea. In general, the food was very good for vegetarians, with varied vegetable and pulses dishes and interesting pasta and rice dishes, as well as a huge selection of salads, fruit and nuts, with something different everyday. The fish and meat was very good indeed and cooked in many different styles over our stay. The desserts were simply fantastic. We also tried both A la carte restaurants which were superb, one of which was included in our package as an alternative to the buffet in the evening, the other available 12-3pm above the beach area, plus there was a relaxed beach bar open all day with drinks, ice cream, and some hot and cold meals. The service was very good indeed at all venues, and all of the staff were extremely welcoming on every occasion, making each meal a pleasure.
The beach area has a small sandy beach and swimming in the sea is possible but quite limited so really the main beach experience is on the large number of loungers and some deck chairs which all provide a great view of the bay. As the resort accommodation is up on a cliff the route to the beach area involves quite a few steps, and overall it was a short walk from our room (although there are closer rooms available). The diving centre and also boat hire run independently from the hotel, and we tried a snorkeling trip which was reached by boat directly from the beach area, with very friendly and attentive staff. All equipment is available but we had our own snorkels and flippers and this gave us a good discount. We shared our trip with one other who was scuba diving and all worked well.
Every evening there was something to do in the bar area: film, DJ, musicians and more. In the morning yoga was available for a small number of guests which we were able to do on several days.
We had booked a couple of 4x4 excursions (see my other reviews) so we didn't hire a car, and chose to walk to Elounda a couple of times and took reasonably priced taxis to Agios Nikolaos, Plaka, one to Kritsa, plus one above Upper Elounda to have lunch and walk back down to Elounda. Taxi pricing was essentially fixed (e.g. it cost €17 to/from Agios Nikolaos) from the resort. From Agios Nikolaos bus station it is possible to take a KTEA bus to other parts of Crete including towards Sitia or back towards Heraklion, or to the South coast. There are also some buses that run a few times a day, fewer at weekends, between AN and Elounda that stop above the resort although with a mile or so to walk down (or up!), for €2. We had a pleasurable day trip to Sitia for €8.30 each way.
There is so much to do in the area. We didn't end up going to Spinalonga (boat trip from Plaka or Elounda) due to poorer weather in our second week, but we visited Plaka and had a good walk on Kalydon island as well as Elounda, plus the Sitia trip and excursions.
All in all we had a very varied and enjoyable time at Aquila Elounda Village.

Calm quiet romantic
Went here as season started early May which ment everything was just getting going. seemed very unfocused on guests. However Konstantinos with his fabulous smile in the Mirabelo at lunch and the Symposium in the evening restored our holiday here. Very clean and well kept resort. App is a little behind the times but can see it working. However this removes even more of the lacking personal touch expected.

Excellent service and lovely view/grounds
Despite the weather being a bit disappointing during our stay, we still genuinely enjoyed ourselves. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, stunning views. Even with the wind, dining at the outdoor lunch restaurant with those incredible views was a highlight (However, I would suggest an indoor option for lunch when the weather isn’t great)
The spa was lovely — the treatments were enjoyable, and the service was top-tier. We had access to a private area with steam rooms, saunas, and about 5/6 different facilities all to ourselves, which felt so luxurious. A special thank you to Eleana in the spa, who did all my treatments - I really enjoyed them :)
The à la carte restaurants on site food was 5*. Every dish we tried was delicious, and the team there made a real difference to our experience. Konstantinos, Michaelis, and Anastasia were so friendly and attentive. Konstantinos made a difference to our stay - even surprising us with a thoughtful gift before we left!
The only downside for me was the standard rooms. While the rest of the hotel is beautifully decorated, the rooms felt a little tired and didn’t quite match the photos from when we booked. A bit of a refresh of the decor & furniture in the rooms would really bring them up to the standard of the rest of the property.
Overall though, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return — especially for the views, food, and spa.
