Nice hotel, staff very helpful especially over WhatsApp. If check in is at 3pm I expect a person to be there to make sure we enter property and give a run down still etc

Convenient but needs to be taken in hand

This design hotel is already damaged! Dirty elevator - not very clean rooms) black marks on the headboard and walls - beware of the photos: no room with a view of Athens, only the penthouse — The bed creaks loudly!!
Kind and helpful welcome - I was changed to another room - the first one 202 was not clean -
Reception desk not clean -
35 minutes from the airport and downtown by metro

This is a true disaster: avoid. Hair in the shower drain on check in, grimy room, zero privacy in the apparently private penthouse with a broken jacuzzi, because the room has no curtains on the entire wall length balcony window that is nose to nose with a series of residential buildings, so you are exposed for all to see even in the shower.
Plenty of hotels of similar class and price points in the centre of Athens that actually deliver on their service promises. Newel Psychiko is nothing more than a shabby apartment rental in a suburb of Athens, masquerading as something more than what it is. The service culture is also non existent. Worst stay.

I've seen in so many Athens hotels over the years and usually they disappoint very badly. Service is still something not quite well understood in Greece for the most part. However, this hotel is extremely well done, and I was very pleased by the service at the front desk as well. The neighborhood is decent and a quick walk to the metro, the only negative I thought of taking a star off for was that this hotel is far too hot in the central corridor, and because there's no air-conditioning in the rooms during the winter, the rooms stay hot as well. But you do have a door you can open for air, and a fan circulation system. Other than that, the breakfast was fantastic, the people were great, and the hotel was beautiful. For the price it beats all of the other hotels I stayed in in Athens. So I'm not taking off a star. They deserve it.

Great stay at Newel - Mario and the staff were fantastic and accommodating, lovely breakfast with a lot of choice, great location close to the metro and overall a wonderful stay. Only things to note, parking can be quite tricky and the Penthouse Room lacks a bit of privacy - would benefit from curtains/privacy glass. Other than that, great stay and would return.
