Located just 100 metres from Tarsanas sandy beach, Alianthos Suites offers self-catered units built within a beautiful garden. It has a swimming pool and a private bay overlooking the Cretan Sea.

Very clean, bed linen changed after 7 nights. Plenty of towels- pool towels provided. Good buffet breakfast. Great pool, padded pool loungers.
Near airport so overhead planes and Greek military jets. English spoken. Small team of very friendly , helpful staff.
There were a few families staying whilst we were there ( beginning September).
Lovely plants and shady trees surrounding apartments( sadly the plants adjacent to our particular ground floor apartment had died - faulty watering system I think).
Plenty of parking spaces. 2 minute walk to small popular sandy local beach. One taverna 2 minute walk, otherwise short drive to several other tavernas. A couple of shops and fuel station 5 minutes drive away.
50 minute drive to Chania, 1 hour 50 to Rhethymno.
We would very happily stay here again.

Good for budjet travel
Good stay for one night before heading to airport.
Room was clean and quite new. Pool area nice, the water not heated and bit dirty.

So disappointing
All ground floor rooms are very dark. Number 24 should be kept as a storage room. The photos don’t reflect the real state of the hotel!
The nice garden, pool with a view save the place but not when you stay for more than a couple of days!
Cleaning in the room wasn’t good at all. Lack of staff!
Some guests had babies and complained about the dirty floors. The smell in the bathroom was awful.
Poor standard for breakfast. Always the same, no fresh fruit. Fresh orange juice welcome since coffee was bad. Other coffee charged €2:50.
Many guests had to clean up their tables at breakfast and the floor was filthy since many families had babies eating there!
Military and civil aircrafts fly over the hotel which is indeed very noisy.
Beware! Taxis are expensive, better rent a car!

Very disappointed
1 bedroom apartment booked for 1 night in August 2025 on the Alianthos Suites website.
We stayed one night at this property, which, in the end, was enough.
The positives:
- Our apartment had a nice view of the sea.
The kitchen and bathroom were clean, although the layout remains very sketchy.
- The small pool was very appreciated in the middle of August, in the heart of a neat garden.
- The environment is quiet and quiet, ideal for rest.
- Private parking is available on site.
- The residence is close to a pretty little beach.
- Located 15 minutes drive from Chania airport, it is very convenient in case of late arrival or early morning departure. The center of Chania is 20 minutes away.
The negatives:
When we arrived, we found a large spider web with a spider in the living room.
– As the 2 bedroom apartment is unavailable on the Alianthos Suites website, we have booked an advertised 1 bedroom apartment for 4 adults. However, it should be made clear that it is rather suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. The sofa beds in the living room are only 60 cm wide by 170 cm long: it is simply a small mattress placed on a wooden board (photo).
- The living room is not air conditioned (only the bedroom has an antique air conditioner), and one of the windows has no shutters, making the night uncomfortable. We were three adults, and the third could not sleep properly.
We had chosen the breakfast formula, but it was impossible to take it in the garden because of many very aggressive wasps (in August). We had to retreat inside the apartment. This inconvenience is not attributable to the hotel, but remains frustrating.
The breakfast buffet is very basic, few choices.
Finally, if the proximity to the airport is convenient, it has a reverse: the noise of planes from 7:30 to midnight in high season.
In short, the place has some strengths, but the many negatives prevail for us.
We're not coming back.

Sad place
Not happy with the cleaning, there was nothing to wash up with in the kitchen. The laundry ladies only gave new laundry every day, had to tell them what to do. Zero life in the bar, no music or TV during the daytime. bad breakfast. ordered omelet from the menu instead. The place was far from the most, was a restaurant a little down the road that arranged a taxi to us to the city. Most of it was difficult to get to in the bar at this place, everything went slowly. Neighbor guests who came had to ask them to wash before they could move in. Do not recommend this place. not worth the money.
