Nice accommodation, good location but too few umbrellas by the pools
- Hard mattresses (no mattress toppers)
- Too few parasols by the pools (2pcs) (glad we went without children this time as it had not worked at all to hang by the pool without parasols in July when the sun e super strong)
- Sunbeds are not enough
- AC for 1 week costs 60€
- One or more dogs in the area bark very much and often regardless of morning / day / evening / night, really annoying o hard at times.
+ Nice rooms (we had a lght in duplex) double balconies
+ The duplex apartment and the color choices in the facility gave a fresh feeling.
+ The staff both reception, pool guy and the maids are nice o helpful.
+ Located a little behind the "tourist street" and calmer pace
+ The proximity 5min to walk to the street with restaurants and supermarkets etc
+ 5min to bus stop to get to eg Chania
+ The proximity to the beach, takes max 10 minutes to walk, right below the hotel over the “main street” so is the beach there and a great restaurant “Ocean” that offers free sun beds with parasols if you buy a breakfast / lunch / dinner at it, otherwise 4€ afraid (we were standing guests for beach baths and a small lunch)

Casa Maria Platanias 2025
A few things are minus though;
- the pool is “dangerous” with totally lousy tile work and razor sharp edges everywhere.
The children have cut their feet several times.
- pool edge dirty o glashal.
- kitchenette really badly equipped.
- we arrived at 11 in the morning but there was no room until 3 pm.
- for two rooms for two weeks we had to add 4000kr for AC o safetybox
