Lovely apartment
The location is up a fairly steep hill so it's a thing to keep in mind when booking.many people hire a car,plenty of spaces around the apartments .The check in was straightforward enough,as we were after reception closing (4pm) the owner left the key under the mat and provided a picture of the apartment in an email.
She was a very friendly lady and her family members also very kind and helpful.
The apartment ,a one bedroom was on the ground floor,clean and tidy,at the pool area ,kids were in/ out of the pool throughout the day but that didn't bother us.Sunbeds always available for us,nice and padded which are a luxury.There is a small seating area in front of the apartment but it would seem it could be used by others as there's no privacy to these as your right at the pool.A lady was helping her toddler eat some ice cream one day while we were at the pool, but we didn't have the heart to advise her she was sitting at out space, we just popped some wet towels on the chairs everyday which was all we could do, perhaps some large planters to separate the seating from others? Not sure what would work,very small issue...
A small complex with a constant orchestra of crickets outside all day!
Only 5 minutes walk to the beach.Enough restaurants along the resort main street so plenty choice.We particular liked the Panorama Restaurant near the accomodation, it's high up on a small hill to walk but worth it at sunset as it's gorgeous!
A taxi cost around £20-25 euros to go into Chania,it takes about 20 minutes,will be longer on the local bus,so it's not too far but not close either,it's a busy busy town full of the tourists but a lovely place to visit.
Overall we had a relaxing time in Plantanias,not really full of British people, the weather was a constant 29-32 which was great,as Crete is a lovely island,we are likely to move around and stay in other areas but nice to chill out.❤️

Clean, comfortable and spacious apartment in a great location
We had a wonderful stay at Esthisis Suites and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, which was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The main balcony was a real highlight, with a comfortable sofa and chair where we could relax while enjoying the beautiful sea views and spectacular sunsets every evening. There was also a second balcony with a clothes airer, which was perfect for drying swimwear and towels.
The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed, including two coffee machines, a toaster, microwave, kettle, oven, hob and a large fridge freezer. Towels and beach towels were provided, and the housekeeping was excellent. The cleaners visited daily, made the beds and changed towels and bed linen whenever needed.
The swimming pool was beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. It was peaceful throughout our stay, with plenty of comfortable sunbeds available. We particularly appreciated that guests didn’t reserve beds with towels and disappear, so there was always somewhere to relax.
The location is ideal. It’s only about a five-minute walk downhill to the centre of Platanias, with supermarkets, a bakery, shops and a huge choice of restaurants. The local bus to Chania is frequent, takes around 30–40 minutes and is very reasonably priced. A further five-minute walk brings you to the beach, where sunbeds cost just €5 for the day. The sea was crystal clear, and there is a lovely section with soft sand underfoot.
Although the apartments are set on a hill, this means there are several excellent rooftop restaurants nearby with stunning sunset views. We’d highly recommend the family-run Agioklima just around the corner – the lamb was absolutely delicious and it became one of our favourite meals of the holiday.
We paid a little extra for a late checkout because we had an evening flight, and it was well worth it. The apartments also arranged car hire for us for a couple of days at a very competitive price, which made everything so easy.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable apartment with a beautiful pool, friendly staff and a fantastic location, Esthisis Suites is an excellent choice. We had a fantastic holiday and would happily stay here again.

Magical Holiday Experience
This was our third stay with Efe and the family at Esthisis Suites in Platanias, and once again it was absolutely perfect.
We simply cannot fault this place, and that’s exactly why we keep coming back. The suites are modern, spotless, and cleaned to a very high standard every single day. The housekeeping team work incredibly hard and always do an amazing job.
The welcome you receive from Efe and her family is second to none. They are genuinely the kindest, warmest, and most welcoming hosts, making you feel like part of the family from the moment you arrive. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
Coming back for a third time has only confirmed what a truly special place Esthisis Suites is. It truly feels like a home away from home, and we already can’t wait to return again.

Best hospitality in Crete!
One of the best travel experiences I have had. The hospitality from the owner was nothing short of world class! Can not recommend this place enough if you want to have a great time in Crete, Greece.

This was an extremely pleasant surprise! I travel professionally in aviation, and with friends or solo to explore new areas of the world. By chance, on our last night in beautiful Crete, we started to gravitate towards our next morning departure airport Chania, and found this pearl of an apartment hotel both close to where we had been this morning (the elusive and often hard to access Maleme airport museum), close to family restaurants overlooking Platanias and the sea, and easily accessible by car both arriving early, and for the next morning’s departure. Our host readily answered a kind request by mail, and when showing up we were met with the world’s most hospitable smile, local candy and a packet of local orange juice wrapped in a napkin, a first for us and a simple but very heartfelt welcome. The apartment was fantastic; as far as we were concerned with two floors, a balcony, two bedrooms, one and a half baths, a kitchen and a living room. The pool and pool area were immaculately clean, and with restaurants merely minutes away, and street parking right outside (and a public parking very close), we wouldn’t have had to venture far for what we needed. This turned out to be our rest day after hiking and driving during our stay so far. I’ve made a note about checking this place out again the next time I am in Crete, and will recommend it directly to my personal friends, many whom are vacationing in this area on a yearly basis. Thanks for the hospitality and great stay!
