The nicest place we stayed in Crete

We really enjoyed our stay at Irene's beautiful apartment. The little village of Kefali is a very quiet place with an excellent view of the mountains. Irene is a very kind and friendly host and does everything possible to make you feel at home. The apartments are beautifully restored with comfortable beds and very clean. The location is ideal to reach Elafonisi's beach in a short time. Thanks dear Irene for your hospitality. All the best. Maurizio and Emerson

Loved every minute there.

We had the top apartment, spacious and full of character with 2 bedrooms, a large living room with kitchen and good shower room. It also has a roof terrace with spectacular views where we sat most mornings to have coffee. For the size of the rooms, the atmosphere and position it is very reasonably priced. As well has having great views itself, it's in the middle of some of the most beautiful mountain countryside in Crete. The coast close by is wild and rugged and the colour of the sea there is amazing. We ate every night in the Panorama Taverna on the mountainside above us and had excellent Greek food in a real Cretan atmosphere. The evenings there were great fun. We were given lovely little deserts and carafes of raki at the end of each meal - we were lucky that the short journey home was downhill! The taverna is run by the family who own the apartments and you couldn't get a warmer welcome anywhere. At the end of our stay we were presented with a little bag of keepsake gifts. The family are warm hearted and so generous. If you want to escape the crowds and anonymous commercialism of the more popular resorts and experience real traditional Greek hospitality, this is the place to stay. One of our most memorable stays ever in 30 years of visiting Crete.

A beautiful 2 bedroom house in Kefali

We stayed in Irene's house as part of our cycling tour with Arcas around Western Crete. Irene's welcome was warm- she insisted on making us fresh orange juice on arrival which was very welcome after a steep ride to this tiny village. We had her own house to ourselves which was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for more. The fridge was stocked with juice and water and fresh fruit came from her own trees! The breakfast was delicious, especially the yoghurt with honey and walnuts and the views from the restaurant were wonderful. We could easily have stayed longer here.

Very relaxing and authentic Crete, a must

A very nice and traditional part of Crete. This family owned business, rooms and restaurant are superb. A quiet destination to really be in touch with nature and relax. The food is amazing, the place is away from all of crowds and still has its authentic Cretan character. Irene is a wonderful host as is her whole family. A must when visiting this beautiful area of Crete.
