Nice stay but not 5 star

I stayed at the hotel from April 11th to April 16th 2026 and overall had a really nice experience, though there are a few areas that could be improved.
We didn't originally book this hotel. However a week before we were due to arrive, we found out the hotel we had booked was going to be delayed opening. So the holiday company suggested Apollo Blue for us.
The room itself was lovely, with very comfortable beds and a balcony which was a nice bonus. The bathroom had a full four-piece suite, which was great, although the shower was quite small and felt like it could do with modernising. It was also a nice touch that snacks were left in the room on arrival. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout the stay and kept everything spotless.
We stayed in room 229, which is above the dining area. Because of this, there was some noise particularly in the bathroom where we could hear music, and during meal times we could hear chairs being moved. It wasn’t unbearable, but definitely noticeable.
The hotel overall was very clean and well-maintained, which made a great impression
The location is right on the beach, which is a big plus. However, there were no sun loungers provided on the beach itself, and unfortunately the beach was quite dirty during our stay, with noticeable litter and even a medicine syringe
The surrounding area also felt quite run down. There were a number of abandoned buildings, quite a bit of rubbish and graffiti too. Many shops were shut, likely because it was early in the season which made the area feel a bit quiet and neglected.
Food was a bit mixed. Breakfast was okay, but I would have liked to see more fruit options. Dinner was generally decent the food was always hot, there was plenty of choice, and it was well stocked. However, a lot of it was quite bland in flavour. The desserts also felt quite repetitive, with many of them being mousse-based.
We didn’t try the taverna at lunch as it looked like a smaller version of the dinner buffet. However, towards the end of our stay we discovered that we could use the snack bar at the sister hotel next door, which was a highlight. The pizza, chips, crepes, and kebabs there were all really good and definitely worth trying.
The pool area was fantastic. Even in mid-April, it was warm enough to swim comfortably and there were always plenty of sun loungers available so no need to rush out early to reserve one.
Staff were friendly when we interacted with them, but service felt quite minimal. At no point were we asked how our stay was going and interactions were mostly limited to being shown to a table or having drinks taken. It gave the impression of being left alone rather than looked after.
One downside was that the air conditioning in the room didn’t work, so we had to sleep with the balcony door open every night, which wasn't ideal.
On a positive note, the cocktails at the pool bar were excellent and definitely a highlight.
It cost €28 for a taxi into Rhodes Old Town, which is worth factoring in if you plan to visit.
Overall, it was a really nice stay, but I don’t feel that it quite meets the standard of a five-star hotel as advertised. Also worth noting on checkout there is a €15 per night fee, which may come as a surprise if you’re not expecting it.

Looks Premium Online, Reality Is Very Different

Old furniture, rusted shower, no Kleenex in a so‑called 5‑star room. Food is average and cold by the time you eat. Completely overpriced

Food and wine pairing by Monemvasia winery

Regularly a food and wine dinner is organized in Apollo Blue and this time by Monemvasia winery.
The dinner was put together by the chef of Apollo and it was a culinary feast!
First course crab pie very tasty. Second course a piece of toothbeard with parsnip ragout and small parisian carrots. Super mals !
Third course ravioli with shrimp in sauce.
Fourth course of freshly caught tuna with artichoke puree.
Dessert was the icing on the cake! Salty caramel with mango apricot and honey compote.
All dishes accompanied by fine wines that were carefully selected. The staff ensured perfect service and the right timing between dishes. A big 10 for this! In July there is a new evening planned where we will definitely go. Reservations are certainly desirable as there is a limited number of places.

You won’t regret this

This hotel truly deserves five stars! The food is excellent and the breakfast is absolutely superb. The staff are incredibly friendly, and I want to give special recognition to the receptionist I met, named Manuzus. He made me feel so welcome. He went above and beyond, solving a big problem for me in the middle of the night when I had an unpleasant experience at another hotel. Thanks to him, I had a beautiful room here instead. Honestly, if it hadn’t been for him, I don’t know which hotel I would have ended up at. He is the kind of employee who really deserves a raise!
The rooms are spacious, modern, fresh and give a “mini spa” feeling. Everything is spotless and well-maintained. The gym is excellent and of very high standard. This is without doubt one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, and I will definitely come back with my family next time because this was a business trip oh and also a good thing you don’t have to worry about not getting a chair infront of the pool because they have thought of everything ❤️

Really nice complex, with direct and easy beach access. Relaxed and layed back atmosphere, as the complex is not too crowded. Service and stuff are outstanding, very helpful and friendly.
The interiors of the rooms is a bit outdated and shows signs of wear. Still, rooms are very comfortable and very clean, so we enjoyed staying in ours.
Overall, highly recommend.
