All was good. Thank you Katia, Alex and everyone else for fantastic service. If we ever come back to Afytos it will be to Lagaria due to the people working there. It’s a home away from home.

Beautiful Hotel

We stayed here for 2 weeks arriving on the 21st of May . We were greeted with a nice friendly smile from reception. After paying the tourists tax at £60 per week we were shown to room 109 which is right across from the reception and lift . Now the room itself was stunning and spotless . Quite spacious and a double bed with a nice comfortable mattress. It could do with another set of drawers for more storage. Unfortunately this room has patio doors leading to the terrace which is right on the path to and from the pool and reception. You have no privacy at all here so get used to saying hi every two minutes to the people walking past. The bathroom is very modern but unfortunately it has an open shower with no cubicle so every time you shower the water goes everywhere and everything gets soaked then you have to mop all the water up . Not great at all. After a week we decided enough was enough and asked for a move . We were told we could move to room 212 . It was night and day with a shower cubicle and a balcony with a great view of the pool and sea. We don’t know why we allocated room 109 in the first place as we upgraded when we booked our holiday last July to a deluxe room with a balcony ‍♂️.
The hotel and the pool area are absolutely stunning and spotless ,the cleaners are a real credit to the hotel and it is only a 5 minute walk to the numerous bars and restaurants . The staff who serve and look after you are so friendly and always with a smile .
The only complaint we have apart from our original room is the hot food at breakfast. We had Greek yogurt and honey every morning and that was tasty but the hot food we tried was always cold not luke warm but literally freezing . Some hot trays or better heat lamps really are needed to keep the food warm . We didn’t eat at the hotel for lunch or dinner but there is a very good menu and the food we seen coming out looked very good. Also I would do away with the mini bar in the room and replace it with a proper fridge .
So all in all we had a fantastic time at the Lagaria Palace and if the hot food and a proper fridge was in the room then it would be absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel but stay away from room 109 unless you don’t mind your privacy or mopping up the bathroom floor after a shower.

VERY H IGHLY RATED

The transfer to this hotel with jet 2 is in two parts. The coach drops you off at a rendezvous point just outside the village then a small people carrier took us the last couple of miles. This caused no problems at all.
The look of the hotel is really lovely as you pass through the gates into the gardens and pool area you can’t help but noticing how well maintained and how clean everywhere is.
The girl on reception was shouting greetings and waving as soon as we entered reception.
We were accompanied to our room and everything explained. I must say we were in no way disappointed. If you keep to the standard. Room I guess you will be allocated a ground floor room with direct access to the lawns and pool area.
We chose to upgrade so had a balcony.
The air con and safe were both free the air con was powerful. The room also benefitted from a mosquito mesh inner door. Be careful not to walk into it and also a very nasty tiled step by the patio doors is walking to knock your toes so be wary. Never switched the tv on. The tea and coffee pods are free There is also the use of a little mini bar. Bed bathroom shower all first class as is the standard of cleaning by the maids. Rooms and hotel in general is very quiet. Plenty of storage space for clothes.
The breakfast is delightful. Plenty of continental meats cheeses yoghurt honey fruit cereals etc then the hot plates have two or three types of cooked eggs bacon and sausage and lots of breads and cake to choose from. The juice I couldn’t fault and branded tea and coffee are available.
The staff are the nicest I’ve ever met in a lifetime of travelling and it’s all genuine.
The Sunbeds are quality and always available. Very nice little pool bar is busy with drinks and food from the kitchen.
The location. Well if you read most reports the contributors state the village is a short 10 minutes away. That is correct but if you have any mobility issues such as dodgy knees wonky hips or back pain etc it can be a painful slog without any seats to rest. The taxi is €5.
You definitely won’t be disappointed if you book this hotel.

Great Hotel, Great Location

I cannot say enough positives about this hotel. We stayed on a b&b basis for one week in late August. We had a very large room with a good size balcony and plenty of space in the room including a safe and mini bar/fridge. Breakfast was a good mix of hot and cold foods in a nice light airy setting. The pool area was particularly amazing as some days we had the place pratically to ourselves. Sunbeds were nice and comfortable too and you never had to scramble for one even if you been out for the day. 10 minute walk into the local village which is beautiful and has a gret selection of bars, restaurants, tourist shops, boutiques and a couple of mini-marts. Never had a bad meal in the whole place. The beach is a bit further away down quite a steep slope but we we are pool people anyway so that didn't bother us. We also did a day trip into Thessaloniki with Jet2 Holidays and that was really interesting with plenty to see and do. Pool area was looked after very well by the staff who worked hard throughout the whole day looking after their guests. Would thoroughly recommend this place - wish I was there now !
