Excellent, peaceful getaway.
An amazing hotel that has only just opened. Really relaxing atmosphere for chilling by the pool. Food is great and cocktails by the pool have been devine. Many restaurants within walking distance and a supermarket 2 minutes away for all your essentials.

Amazing ambience and great design!
ARATO by EGEO is a beautifully designed boutique hotel with a calm, contemporary atmosphere. Stylish rooms, friendly staff, excellent cleanliness, and a relaxing pool create a memorable stay. Highly recommended! Loved it and will definitely come back!

Poor service and disappointing views
I was very disappointed with this hotel and do not feel it deserves its advertised 5-star rating.
The biggest issue was that the door to our swim-up pool room did not lock. We reported this on the first day of our stay, but it still had not been fixed by the time we checked out. This was a serious security concern.
The hotel staff were constantly knocking on our door. Despite requesting that the minibar be removed to avoid repeated stock checks, staff continued to knock. We also had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on, but this was ignored. On two occasions, members of staff actually opened our door before realising we were inside, then immediately left. This was an unacceptable invasion of our privacy.
Our swim-up room overlooked allotments with a tin shed and chickens, which was not the view we expected. There was very little privacy as people could easily see into the room and pool area. The sun reached the terrace from around 9:00 am until 4:30 pm.
The room itself was well equipped, with lovely toiletries, a kettle, coffee machine, dressing gowns, slippers, a safe and vanity kits. However, the safe also failed to work on the first day, although this was eventually repaired.
Breakfast offered a good selection, although it was clearly more suited to European tastes. Service, however, was poor. On one morning we sat down without any cutlery and waited around 15 minutes before coffee and fresh orange juice arrived. On another morning I returned from a run at 7:50 am, just before breakfast opened at 8:00 am, and politely asked a member of staff if the water station was available. Instead of offering assistance, they simply said "no" and carried on setting up tables. This was not the level of customer service I would expect from a hotel claiming to be five-star.
On our final evening, the hotel hosted a party for local Greek residents. Hotel guests were given no advance notice or invitation, and there was no warning that the event would be taking place. Complimentary cocktails were being served to attendees, while paying hotel guests were left feeling like outsiders in their own hotel. Rather than feeling valued as guests, we felt pushed aside in favour of the event. This is not the level of hospitality or consideration I would expect from a 5-star hotel.
The location was good, with Kos Old Town around a 20-minute walk away. However, the surrounding area felt quite tacky and overly commercialised. There is a supermarket directly opposite the hotel, which is much cheaper than using the hotel's minibar and is well worth using instead. The airport transfer took approximately 35–40 minutes.
Overall, while there were a few positives, including the room amenities, breakfast selection and convenient location, the poor service, lack of privacy, repeated disturbances, unresolved security issue and disregard for hotel guests during the private event meant this was not a relaxing stay. I would not consider this a true 5-star hotel and would not choose to stay here again.
