Pretty perfect

We booked our trip very last minute and could stay only 5 nights due to work commitments back in the UK. Hotel Aliki is set in a peaceful location between Nikiana and Nidri with stunning sea and mountain views from both the pool and rooftop terrace.
We received a warm and friendly welcome from Val who showed us to our room, a side sea view which was in fact the last room available in this 22 bedroom hotel. It was beautifully cool with super efficient air con and decorated in neutral colours. All other essentials were there: large comfy bed with decent pillows and crisp linens, blackout curtains, kettle, fridge, large full length mirror, powerful shower, decent hair dryer, mini safe and plenty of hangers. It is not luxurious (bathroom needed a little repair) but it’s spotlessly clean and good value for money. Breakfast was very nice: various cooked items including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, sausage rolls or Greek feta pastry fritters. Cold cuts, cheese, salad olives. Bread for toasting, Greek yoghurt, honey, cereals, fresh fruit and pastries. Plenty to choose from. Coffee from vending machine at breakfast was not great but you can buy a proper coffee from the bar for €3 if you wish. Small poolside menu eg Greek salad, club sandwich, tuna baguette all good value and tasty.
We stayed by the pool most days as we were there to relax and it really was so serene. Service good and attentive for drinks and snacks. We didn’t hire a car so for dinner either walked to excellent Minas Taverna (5mins) or got taxis to Nidri (10 euros each way) Our taxi to NV Beach Club in Nikiana cost €15 one way - expensive- but we managed to walk back.
But the real jewel in the crown for this hotel is it’s staff. Val, Valentina and Dimitri all made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them and it was always done with a smile. I cannot praise them enough for their hospitality and hard work. Upgrade to a front facing sea view if you get the chance and hire a car if you want to explore, apart from that it’s pretty perfect.

Great hotel with wonderful staff

We can’t recommend this hotel enough, we had a wonderful two weeks. The staff are a fantastic so friendly and nothing is too much trouble and they became friends. A big shout out to beautiful Valentina and Val for making our stay that bit more special. Greta and Dimitri and the lovely breakfast lady, they all work so hard. The breakfasts are typically Greek with great pastries, cooked eggs etc and plenty of fresh fruits. We even had homemade Bougatsa which was heavenly. Our room was extremely clean and well stocked. It was also larger than some Greek hotel rooms we have stayed in. We did not hire a car and had the most chilled time just soaking up the stunning views every day. We walked to Minas restaurant which 5 minutes walk and we can recommend the mussels. We also walked into Nikiana which is very doable and taxi into Nidri lots of good restaurants in both towns. Reception were always helpful ordering the taxis, we didn’t have to much problem getting taxis back from Nidri if you stay at the taxi rank. The dogs next door do bark so bring ear plugs although I got use to them and slept well, beds are very comfortable. We will definitely be returning next year

Wonderful

Left on Saturday and missing it already!. Such a lovely place and everyone at the hotel were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was an issue. Breakfast was great with enough of everything. Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned every day with fresh towels.can not fault the place. Reasonably regular buses and taxis are €10 into Nidri. Thank you so much for an amazing time, we will definitely be back!!.

Wonderful relaxing stay!

We recently spent 10 nights here at the Aliki Hotel and had the most relaxing and pleasant stay. The hotel staff cannot do enough for you and make you feel so welcome! We would definitely return, nothing was too much trouble!
The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. The shower temperature and water pressure was good. There is a little fridge which we found useful for keeping bottled water cold. The air conditioning is excellent (it was that good some nights I woke up cold and had to turn it off). There is also a smart tv which we did not use. We had no issue with traffic or noise from room 24 on the second floor. Our room was side sea view but we opted to sit on the roof terrace rather than the balcony as the views were better. The roof terrace was one of my favourite parts of the hotel as the views are simply spectacular, we would often have drinks up there on an evening or get up early to watch the sunrise.
Breakfast was mainly continental with plenty of choice and was always fresh. The hotel bar is reasonably priced, we alternated on an evening between eating at the hotel and out in the nearby towns. I would recommend the club sandwich and Greek/caesar salad from the hotel!
The pool was clean and the sunbeds are comfy. We were down for breakfast at 8am most days so had no issues getting a sunbed. If the hotel is full they can quickly get taken up as there aren’t enough beds for each guest but we never personally had an issue with this. The hotel will also provide you with towels for around the pool if you ask.
Location wise, Nikiana and Nydri are the nearest towns. A taxi each way is €10. Nikiana is about a 25 min walk from the hotel, mainly on the road as there are little pavements. The nearest restaurant is Minas Tavern which we went to a couple of times as it is only a 5 min walk from the hotel. Val was super helpful in arranging a taxi to bring us back to the hotel on an evening when we were ready to return from Nikiana/Nydri. We also hired a car through the hotel - €100 for 2 days, I would recommend this if you are staying for more than a week as taxi rides can add up. We explored different beaches and sights around the coast and would definitely hire a car again if we came back. We didn’t use the local buses but other guests did and said they were fairly easy to navigate.
We would definitely return to the hotel, we had such a positive experience! Thank you to all the staff for a lovely holiday☺️

Aliki hotel - a lovely place to relax and unwind.

We have just returned from a brilliant two week stay at the Hotel Aliki. From the moment we arrived, until we left, we were made to feel really welcome by all the staff. As it’s a small hotel it soon feels like home. The hotel is really well maintained and we had a huge room with balcony and a side window too. The room was spotless and had fridge, kettle and coffee machine. The bed was huge and comfy, and the shower was perfect. The hotel breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We ate lunch there most days and food was good. We didn’t find any difficulty getting beds around the pool. It is a 25 min walk down the hill into Nikiana (and uphill back) but we were happy to do this almost every night. The road is busy, but we didn’t find it dangerous. Nikiana is small but we found there were enough good places to eat. It’s easy to get the bus into Lefkada Town to explore. The hotel is happy to call for taxis to go to Nidri for an evening out or a boat trip. We used the bus to get there too.
We really loved our stay at the Aliki and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a ‘home from home’ for their holiday.
