An unexpectedly pleasant surprise

We visited the hostel last spring - early April.
No photos and no reviews prepared us for this extraordinary
a stay experience we lived with our puppy
and won us from the first moment.
Rooms comfortable and beautiful, clean, warm and with a fantastic view of the lake
and the Belles mountain range. Magical place!
The nights after the nice meal at the owner’s restaurant we could catch all the stars of the sky and enjoy them from our balcony
Until we fall asleep listening in the absolute silence to the horrors,
The nightshades and rare birds of the lake.
In the morning we were enjoying our coffee in the room by chewing the pelleters
passing in front of us to find food for their little ones. And then delicious - with local products - rich breakfast on the terrace of the restaurant
From the hands of Dimitra.
And then bird watching and silver puppets and rides
since the hostel is in a hub for tours in the area.
This year we went again at the same time and we were excited
even more with the hospitality of the owners -
It was like we were coming home!

A place to discover

Facing Lake Kerkini this guesthouse is really nice: beautiful large room, air conditioning, balcony overlooking the lake. Everything is very clean. Warm welcome. Hearty breakfast made of home-cooked Greek recipes (puffs, cakes). Excellent value for money

WORTH IT

The hostel people are welcoming, smiling and warm. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms and good mood. Nice view of the lake and from the rooms but also from the tavern. The location of the hostel is also offered for walking in both the village and the dam. We arrived with curiosity, we left with a smile!

Family Dinner

Had a lovely family dinner here enjoying an amazing view of the sunset over the lake.
Stylish and tastefully done, very well maintained, clean and welcoming.
Food is varied (loads of fish specialties) on the affordable side but extremely tasty, cannot recommend it enough.
Service is prompt and efficient.
It is a family owned business and it's always heartwarming to see multiple generations working alongside each other (the teenagers serving, the parents cooking and the grandparents engaging with the guests making sure everything is in order).
You remind yourself that this is these people's home that they welcome you in it with open arms, always be respectful, polite and kind.

Generally poor

On arrival, in September, we had a problem trying to check in. Once this was sorted we went across to our room on the other side of the road which was not good. To make things worse we discovered immediately behind our room a dog tethered with puppies. The dog was in very poor condition, not happy and very hungry. And we had to put up with the stench as well as having to dodge all the poo. We reluctantly had a meal in the restaurant as there seemed little choice in the area. The only positive was the view from the restaurant otherwise not worth visiting.
