Wonderful stay

I visited Paros for the first time and wanted to be close to Naoussa in a charming and comfortable hotel. Hotel Marinero was absolutely delightful. See my comments below on my experience:
1. Location: the hotel is nicely located just a short walk to the heart of town. It took me about 5-6 minutes to walk into town and the walk is quite easy! I’m also told it’s just a few minutes walk to the beach as well, but I visited beaches further afield, so didn’t actually walk to the closest beach. Also just a 1 minute walk is a market shop - so easy to get snacks and beverages. And the car/ATV rental is just a 2 minute walk - everything needed is quite close.
2. Hotel and accommodation: the first room I had was small, it was nice and comfortable with a mini fridge, cute balcony and small desk area. The manager was very kind and upgraded me to a larger room for my second night and that room was also very comfortable, nice and provided a bigger bathroom.
3. Breakfast: the included breakfast had a very nice selection and ample eating area with tables both inside and outside. Fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, eggs, juices, coffee and tea.
4. Staff: the staff are very wonderful here. The manager of the hotel, and front desk, were all overly helpful. Since I had such a short stay, I wanted to see quite a few things; and they helped arrange a custom tour for me that took me around the island, to Antiparos and made some great recommendations for other activities (hike to the lighthouse) as well as dinner locations. I will say the level of service and help I received is comparable to staying at a luxury property like a Four Seasons!
I highly recommend a stay here. Even though ratings put this hotel as 2-star; with my experience and comfortability, I believe the 2-star rating is too low.
I look forward to a visit back!

Hotel is very dated... Needs attention.

Most of the hotel staff were great. location is good, but not easy to find. Located on an unfinished gravel road. Can not see hotel from the main road.
As far as the rooms, wow.... Bedroom area is just ok.
The bathrooms are ridiculous,!!! we had no toilet paper holder, the shower is tiny and the pull around curtain sticks to you while you shower. There's NO power plugs in the bathroom too. The shower base floods with water, drain does not work correctly. Sink is tiny. Than when you're done there's water all over the bathroom, the mirror, floor etc... what a mess... You have no choice but to clean up your own bathroom.

Absolutely not.

I honestly find it hard to understand the strongly positive reviews of this hotel. I'm really sorry to say this but, apart from the staff, really courteous, and the breakfast and pool area, the rest is a half disaster. Cleanliness of the room inadequate. Every GG was cleaned the floor but not the rest. Certainly not the sanitary workers who presented the same critical issues every day. Eventually, we cleaned them with sanitized wipes. The little shower with the curtain sticking on it. Sheets stained (made to replace but were also stained the others), hair dryer as photos. Landfill Room View (?) I don't know... honestly the worst place I've ever stayed. I do not understand how the travel agency we turned to, could sell this hotel.Only positive thing the location near the center

Very expensive for a horrible room. Room 17 needs to be remodeled

The staff were very friendly and the place was clean. This review is not indicative of the staff. The room however was the worst room in the 8 rooms we’ve stayed in during our time in Europe. The bathroom was tiny. The shower was next to the toilet with no enclosure so everything would get soaked after every shower. And the toilet stopped working. It would continue to run, and wouldn’t flush. There were very few outlets in the room and there was only a tiny mirror. The lights would flicker. The walls were thin and we could hear all our neighbors all night. There was no coffee maker in our room and breakfast didn’t start until 8.15am. The breakfast was so so. Hard boiled eggs, croissants, cold cuts, yoghurt, etc. they didn’t recommend we drink the tap water, and charged us two euros for a bottle of water. The pool was so so, nothing special. This was probably our most expensive room of our vacation and easily the worst. They need desperately to remodel and fix the plumbing.

Can do better

Very disappointed with the condition of the hotel (a refreshment is necessary) considering the price paid (1900 € for 6 nights for 4 people), bathroom with mold, very small and cloudy pool throughout the stay.
Pros: the location and kindness of the staff.
