Very friendly family run business- who make you feel part of the family.
They look after their guests like they were friends & family.
Some guests I spoke to have been coming for 20 plus years.
It’s nestled in the heart of the village, provides breakfast lunch & dinner meals with drinks & ice cream. Along with one of the only pools in town.
Pop your head in, guests at his property or not, for a cool off in the pool & grab yourself a drink or a bite to eat & soak up the atmosphere at Maki’s paradise bar.

Very relaxing time away......
Spent 7 nights in this lovely place ( 1st week in October). We stayed in room 11, big enough room for a couple. Very comfortable beds and pillows, rooms cleaned daily, Effie is just lovely, also Rita, (Effies mum), these 2 wonderful ladies made us both feel very welcome and will do their very best to accommodate your needs. Pool area very relaxing, ideal for peace and quiet. Shops and restaurants are a short walk away, plentiful on main street, a few lovely tavernas tucked away in side streets. We must recommend The Manor House for a beautiful meal, although everywhere we ate, the food was very nice. Will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks all for a lovely relaxing week. ❣️

My husband and I are there now on holiday. This is the best accommodation we have rented for a long time. First class- comfortable, so clean, hosts lovely people, sea view(every apartment), spacious. We have found our new holiday destination. Already planning our return

Makis Porus
We booked independedly and thought we'd booked makis studios in aghia ephimia. Hire car from airport. had looked at accommodation daily, pool, bar etc...cept booked through booking.com......Makis Porus. aaaagh no pool no bar ! BEST THING EVER !!! The accommodation is 2 minutes from the beach. Makis and Ellena are the most wonderful hosts. i was not happy the first night at ending up somewhere I didn't expect. We went by car to see the original booking.The views online ....well if you had one of the 26 rooms ...You could not wish to meet a nicer couple. We had lemons,cucumber out their garden and Elena kept giving us cake,pudding and jellies. When we go back, I'd go back 100% to makis. And if you're going to Kefalonia, south of Porus lots of hotels. North, Agia Ephimia, beautiful harbour, very small. Fiskardo ? millionaires yachts, but very small. Porus is a working port and towm. girl in newsagent in Porus told us, her n hubby, 8 euros for 2 coffees n 2 icecreams in Porus, 14 in Agia Ephimia, 20 minimum in Fiskardo. True .Skala going to end up like a typical resort but still lovely. Hope this helps anyone going to Kefalonia xxx Book Makis !!!!

Makis apartments
Had lovely week in these apartments. Very clean and tidy. Food at bar very good.Pool lovely size and plenty of loungers. Skala is small resort with one main road of shops and bars but it is on a slope and difficult for anyone with mobility problems. Taxi available any taverna will ring for you, basic price 5 euros. We were a party of 3 who shared a room, one bed being a put you up and not very comfortable, and we shared a child size wardrobe.Would advise taking a few hangers as not enough for 3 ladies. The apartments have pretty surroundings, lots of lovely flowers and smell of jasmin is delightful.
