Warm family hotel in Rethymnon

A real home in Rethymnon
We've been coming here for years and every time it feels like coming home. Astali Hotel is a warm family hotel where you don't feel like a guest, but rather a friend.
The hotel is clean and has a prime location: a few minutes walk from the beach and about 10 minutes from the cozy old town. Shops, restaurants and cafes are all nearby.
The rooms are simply furnished but very clean and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay.
The staff is always ready to help. Nothing is too much for them and they always receive you with a smile. Upon arrival there is always a nice attention in the room for us to welcome us again. That makes it extra special.
We have also stayed in more luxurious hotels, but they cannot match the warm, family atmosphere of Astali Hotel for us. The value for money is excellent.
Breakfast is also very catered for, with fresh products. The buffet is not overly extensive, but certainly offers more than enough choice and everything is tasty and fresh.
For us this is without a doubt an absolute must. We are already looking forward to our next stay in September!

Excellent hotel. Superb service and helpful friendly owners. Would highly recommend.

My family and I (wife and three children) stayed at the family-run Astali Hotel for three nights whilst visiting Rethymno for a family wedding. We booked through booking.com and regularly communicated with the Hotel via that app. We had a few requests due to our early arrival and Marios was exceptionally responsive and helpful. The family owners really make you feel very welcome and valued as their guest. The hotel itself is perfectly located and has all amenities you could need. The rooms are spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard.
I have stayed in many hotels in Europe and beyond before but this was the only hotel which I feel I should strongly recommend.

Location location location

This is a great hotel, fantastic location and great service. Food is great, rooms are well equipped and clean, regular cleaning and towel changing. It’s a small hotel not crowded, very pleasant and quiet inside. The only downside is the traffic because the area is crowded with cars and motorcycles the whole night. We had a great balcony with a nice view. Everything is functional. I’d give it a 5/5

Lovely family- run hotel with great location and wonderful staff

We loved everything about our stay.
PROS:
. Very convenient location close to a beautiful stretch of the beach, the port and the old town
- Lovely mother-son team running the hotel: friendly, helpful and efficient. Always there to answer your questions and offer advice
- Excellent breakfast with Cretan/Greek specialties, fresh orange juice on top of your regular continental breakfast options.
CONS:
Not much to complain about. The washroom is a bit small and gets wet when you shower but that wasn't a big deal for us.
Highly recommend Crete and this gem of a hotel
