THE OWNER IS FRAUDING PEOPLE OUT OF HARD EARNED MONEY DO NOT BOOK SCAM!!!

SCAM don't not book!!! Bugs in the room!!! The owner is rude she just takes your money and doesn't respondto any emails. Upon further reading Im not the first here to turn up at the property and said its not there and taken next door to a complete dump that full of bugs/insects, blood stains and dirty laundry plus an old falling apart room. The other lady spoke more English as part of the scam so made you feel that you couldn't complain direct so you just get fobbed off. Fira town is small so everything is central however this is on the wrong side of the town and these properties are in a maze of up and down unfriendly stairs out the way. Just book with a hotel on the other side that has a good reputation and pay 10 or 20% more they are just as quiet. People lose their minds in Santorini which is a shame. Greek people are very friendly but this person only sees you as a Euro Note. You have been warned!!!

Scam and fraud

Please do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. We were booked to stay here for 2 nights and when we first made the booking we made an enquiry about port pick up that was advertised. Heard nothing back so I e-mailed them again, still nothing, no response. How rude and unprofessional! I already had a bad feeling about this place and let me tell you, it got worse. The place is extremely hard to find, when we finally got there we stood outside someone's front door waiting for a while to be greeted. The woman who I assume is the owner finally came out, grabbed my bag and said 'sorry problem' and dragged it all the way to another hotel called LETA. I'm pretty certain she also lied she couldn't speak English. When I saw the hotel I suddenly realised I read another review when someone had the same thing done to them. Basically we were told we couldn't stay in our accommodation on the 1st night but we can stay in hotel LETA. This hotel was 30% cheaper than Aigli Villa and is an absolute DUMP!!! Just an indication that the owner pockets the money and tries to accommodate you somewhere cheaper!!! SCAM AND FRAUD!!! We contacted booking.com ( we booked via them) and they told us she should have informed them that there was a problem with the room beforehand and she should have informed us too. The owner couldn't even tell us what was wrong with the room !!! Obviously we never stayed in Leta as it was like a prison cell from the 80's. We found an alternative accommodation which costed more because it was last minute and to be honest the owner has spoilt out trip to Santorini!!! Not ONCE has she apologised for the inconvenience ! Book elsewhere it's not worth all the hassle you will be put through! PS. Booking.com have been very helpful and accommodating in this whole fiasco .

Truly an ‘aigli’ (ugly) experience

Would not recommend this property!! To be honest, I don’t know why people would even give this property a good review, as it’s one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in.
1. Poor facilities - WiFi was not working on the first day and shower head was not working AT ALL throughout our three nights which was absurd. Toilet bowl could not be flushed. To be honest, even hostels have better shower and toilet facilities. These a basic necessities, but were not met.
2. Housekeeping was inattentive - There was dirty tissue (not left by us) from housekeeping when we came back. Also, towels used were NOT replaced at all. I’d rather they leave our used towels with us.
3. Lack of security - When we checked in, the owner photocopied my credit card, and I was SO uncomfortable with it. Then, in the middle of 2nd night, while we were resting, she started knocking at our door twice just to inform us that payment has been credited in our accounts. We were so afraid who was it at the door, given that was NO peep hole so we couldn’t check. Come on, if she wanted to debit our account, just do this on the first day instead of photocopying my credit card and then disturbing my rest time TWICE?
4. Coldhearted management who only looks at $ - Initially, we requested to cancel our triple room, and when that was rejected, asked about downgrading to a double room. We gently told him/her that my mother couldn’t make the trip due to a recent op) which left a sour taste in our mouths even before we stayed in the villa. But that was not an acceptable reason to her and both of us were ‘forced’ to stay in a triple room.
It’s truly an ‘aigli’ (ugly) stay!

stay at your own risk

WE had booked 4 rooms with Aigli villa out of which we had to unfortunately cancel 1 due to visa issues. The hotel refused to accomodate our requests regarding the cancellation and charged us the entire amount for 4 nights. However on arrival , the staff started telling that we have not made any such requests and was very rude to us.
the hotel staff is nowhere to be seen and you have to spent atleast 20 mins trying to search for someone for any assistance.
They took 3 days to fix the flush our room toilet and we struggled during our stay for very basic amenity in any hotel
only posoitive of our stay is the location of the hotel , located in the centre of fira.
i wont recommend this hotel for anyone.

Not a hotel

Firstly, we want to thank the owner and manager of Aigli Villa for being a gracious host who helped us with our luggage when we checked out and attended to our requests obligingly.
However, to call this place a hotel is misleading and even inaccurate. It’s a house belonging to the owner who rents the rooms downstairs of her home at an exorbitant price for what you get in return, even more expensive than most 5 star hotels in Athens.
Our list of concerns is long. We’ll start from the beginning. There is no airport pickup even though Agoda provided me with an email address to arrange for the pickup. Nobody replied my email. We took a taxi which dropped us off at the Fira Main Square because the street nearest to the hotel - 25 Martiou - is a one way street. We walked everywhere with our luggage but we couldn’t find the place and nobody seemed to know where it was. We then rang the hotel and spoke to the owner who said she couldn’t send anyone to pick us up from where we were. Desperate to find the hotel, we dragged our luggage up the length of the street until some kind soul pointed out a turn in the street which led us to the sign for Hotel Leta. After that, we continued to traipse through a labyrinth of slopes and stairs before we finally found the hotel. My husband, who has a disability and walks with the aid of a walking stick, was absolutely exhausted by the journey. The handle of my luggage broke from the immense effort that I had to exert.
We thought our ordeal had come to an end. But when we were let into our room, we realised how tiny it was compared to the photos we had seen online. And the bathroom was compact with a light that barely illuminated the space. The aircon wasn’t working and I ran upstairs to the reception which is actually the home of the owner to ask for help. She pressed a few buttons on the remote control and told me to keep the balcony door shut whenever the aircon was switched on. You would think that fixed the problem but the aircon continued to break down - either stalling intermittently or completely shut down - throughout our stay.
That wasn’t the only problem that we encountered in our room. On the morning that I tried to take a shower, there was no hot water no matter what I tried to do. I waited until 9am which I assumed would be the time the owner would be awake, and rang her doorbell (which is something that guests will have to do regularly to get any help as there is no phone in the guest rooms). She opened the door and looked like she had just woken up. I immediately felt bad but explained my situation to her. She smiled and nodded, and walked to an electric switchboard or control panel around the corner, and flicked on a big red switch. It’s as if the switch was not turned on even though we had checked in the previous afternoon. I have never heard of a hotel that doesn’t provide its guests with a hot water shower which is a minimal standard and requirement for any decent hotel that advertises this as one of the basic provisions. The hot water supply remained unpredictable and inconsistent throughout our stay. On our last day before we checked out, my husband and I both showered in cold water.
And halfway through our stay, the shower head didn’t work and water was gushing out through the tap at the bottom. I asked the owner to help us to fix it while we were out and about on a tour which lasted 9 hours. When we returned to our room at night, I turned on the shower hoping for a sign of miracle. To my horror, it was still not fixed! My husband pulled on the shower head cord a few times and managed to get the water flowing normally again.
In summary, we were so looking forward to our holiday which was intended to be our honeymoon after 6 years of marriage. But the hotel that we stayed at not only did not live up to our expectations but actually dashed our hopes of having a beautiful and memorable time. Aigli Villa does not qualify as a hotel. It is at best an Airbnb as it doesn’t serve breakfast and cannot be classified as a bed and breakfast.
