A hidden tranquil spot and a lovely stay! ⭐️

We absolutely loved staying here! It’s such a peaceful, private spot which is a nice break from the busy parts of Santorini. The villa itself is really spacious, super clean, and the views are just amazing. We spent loads of time by the pool and hanging out in the outdoor areas.
You can walk to the nearby towns, but be prepared the hills are no joke . Definitely doable, but a car makes exploring the island much easier (and gives you the chance to see so much more). The location is great for that, as it’s pretty central.
Maria was wonderful and her recommendations honestly made our trip. She pointed us to some fantastic places we wouldn’t have found on our own.
If I had to nitpick, the only thing missing was the option to cast to the TV or pop on Netflix (most of the channels are in Greek). But honestly, we hardly spent any time indoors, so it didn’t really matter!
All in all, a perfect spot if you want somewhere tranquil to relax but still be in a great position to explore Santorini. Would definitely come back!

Terrible experience and staff

Terrible experience, highly unrecommended...
My boyfriend and I had the worst thing happen to us that could have: they canceled our reservation at 9 p.m. the day before we were supposed to leave just because the card entered on Booking was my mother's and not mine, even though we had already paid the full amount months earlier. We had a hellish day in which the likely host, Maria, stopped answering our calls after stating that she no longer wanted to accommodate us. We spent the whole day on the phone with the kind Booking assistants, who were also amazed as they had never seen anything like it, and meanwhile the property staff avoided not only our calls but also those from Booking. Through the assistants, we managed to change all the booking details that did not fall within their conditions, but this was not enough, so we had to book another property at 10 p.m. the day before our departure, which was not only nicer but certainly more welcoming: Cape 9 villas.
A huge lack of respect, especially when she stopped responding to us and to Booking. We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time and did not deserve such treatment.

Paradise In Santorini

Our family of 3 stayed at Aregou Villas for 4 nights. This place is even more beautiful than the pictures shown on their website.
It may have been the most relaxing vacation we ever had. Away from the crowded streets of Fira, the villas offer peace and tranquility…..yet a 10 minute drive will get you to all the action and some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. I do recommend anyone staying at Aregou to rent a car. It is just too hot to stand in the sun during the day waiting for a public bus.
Restaurants, pharmacies, and convenient stores are all but a 5 minute drive from the villas. The pool is well maintained and we were given the choice of how often we wanted housekeeping services (we chose every second day). Pots, pans, cutlery, dishes, coffee maker, stove and fridge…all provided.
A trip to Oia will take you about 30 minutes by car. If you are travelling to Oia by car I suggest you drive to Fira first and take the road from there. Be aware that Google maps does not show the public bus route from Fira to Oia.
One other thing. Driving in Santorini is not for the faint of heart. Traffic laws are not enforced for the most part and drivers do not follow the rules of the road. It took me a couple of days to get used to the driving. Parking can be a challenge as well. If you leave the villa before 4pm you should be able to find parking in Fira. It becomes very crowded in Fira after that time as people start to show up for the sunset.
And lastly, I cannot say enough about our host Maria. Her suggestions on where to eat and the best excursions on the island were very helpful. She was always a phone call away from anything we needed. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
