Very relaxing stay

Having seen the previous reviews we were not sure what we’d find, but we were very happy with our stay. Firstly the staff were lovely and friendly and we had no problem, always happy to assist us and have a chat. As usual trying a a few Greek words like kalimera and efharisto breaks the ice! The cleaning ladies were lovely.
The rooms are gradually being updated, we had an older one on the ground floor which was enough for us with hanging space for clothes and drawers for other items. The bathroom was manageable but had a small shower tray with curtains which could be awkward for some people however the water was nice and hot. The fridge was a nice size, clean and cold. The bed was comfortable but you can get a mattress topper from reception if required and the aircon was really good and worked really well. Wi fi was a bit hit and miss sometimes in the room.
Breakfast was very good with a small choice of hot food (hard boiled eggs, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, local bacon and small sausages), then a variety of cereals, cold meat and cheese, pastries, bread etc with the usual bread toaster, coffee machine and tea making. We did not go hungry and there was always plenty there.
The pool was excellent, big and clean with enough sunbeds. The seating area was nice and the bar had reasonable prices, it closed at seven in the evening. It was nice to look over at the sea which was just over a quiet bit of road, easy to have a quick dip whenever it got too hot. There was also a new paved road just being finished which took you parallel to the sea and into the main part of Skala Kallonis which was a ten minute walk. Skala Kallonis itself is very nice with a very relaxed vibe.
I would definitely stay here again both for the place and people but also for its fantastic situation.

We highly recommend Kalloni Bay Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday, genuine Greek hospitality, and the oppor

We had a wonderful stay at Kalloni Bay Hotel on the beautiful island of Lesbos, a holiday that left us with unforgettable memories and a strong desire to return. From the very first day, we were impressed by the warm hospitality of the hotel staff. Everyone welcomed us with genuine smiles, was kind, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations for places to visit and seaside tavernas where we could enjoy authentic local cuisine. The peaceful and friendly atmosphere made us feel completely at home.
The hotel is located in an excellent area, just a short walk from the sea. Although it has a beautiful, clean swimming pool, we preferred spending our days at the beach and exploring the coastline. We rented a car and set off to discover the beauty of Lesbos. Every drive revealed breathtaking scenery: picturesque villages, endless olive groves, hidden bays, and stunning beaches with crystal-clear turquoise waters. We found both well-organized beaches, perfect for relaxing, and small secluded coves where the tranquility and natural beauty created unforgettable moments. Every stop was a pleasant surprise and another opportunity to admire the authentic charm of the island.
One of the highlights of our holiday was undoubtedly the food. Every evening we chose a different taverna by the sea, where we enjoyed truly exceptional dining experiences. The fresh fish and seafood, prepared according to traditional Greek recipes, were simply outstanding. Sardines, anchovies, gilt-head bream, sea bass, grilled octopus, calamari, and shrimp, seasoned with local olive oil, fresh lemon, and aromatic herbs, were all incredibly fresh and full of authentic Mediterranean flavor. Dining just a few steps from the water, with the gentle sea breeze, spectacular sunsets, and the warm hospitality of the taverna owners, made every dinner a truly memorable experience.
Lesbos is an island that perfectly combines breathtaking natural beauty, rich Greek traditions, and the genuine hospitality of its people. Our stay at Kalloni Bay Hotel offered everything we were looking for: relaxation, beautiful landscapes, and outstanding culinary experiences. We returned home with unforgettable memories and the certainty that we will gladly come back to this charming island in the future.

Relax and Unwind Heaven

Had a wonderful stay at the Kalloni Bay Hotel in July 2026. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe and at ease. The property is exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff couldn't do enough for you. The pool area is a massive highlight, featuring a beautiful, clean pool and a great pool bar.It is just a short walk to the must-visit bars and restaurants in the village square. Pro tip: Definitely hire a car. Public transport and excursions are rare here, so your own wheels are essential. I would absolutely return!

So much potential needs update

We came here for our honeymoon and stop between the 21st September to 28th September and we left with very mixed feeling about this place.
Pros…
The staff I can not express how lovey and great these staff were they were all friendly polite and couldn’t do enough for us they knew it was our honeymoon and left us a bottle of Greek wine and flowers and a card wishing us a great honeymoon this was our first impression and we were so happy with this can not fault the staff.
Food… we found the food very nice the breakfast was a continental breakfast but this is the first hotel that we stayed abroad which we loved the eggs and bacon so it was eggs and bacon on toast all week which we really enjoyed.
The dinner/snack bar wasn’t all that bad particularly the club sandwich we really enjoyed them and it wasn’t badly priced although it was cheaper in the village to buy food and drink.
The beach.
The beach is only a 30 second walk away with its own sun loungers the water is very shallow and goes out quite far.
The village
The village is only a 5 - 10 min walk away with about 5 - 6 restaurants and an ice cream shop which was a nice little place with good vibes and a good pint.
Cons….
The rooms are really outdated especially the bathroom. No hotel should have shower curtains and it was very small. The water was not constantly hot I like my showers hot but this struggled to get Lukewarm but I could live with all this if it wasn’t for the bed
The bed is so firm we both struggled to sleep on that bed my wife was waking up at 5am each morning because of aches and pains from the bed.
Pool… the pool is very big and I’ll warn you now it’s very Deep in the shallow end the water came to my chest and I’m 5,11. The deep end is 2.6 meters and it is so cold now I’m not expecting heated pool in a 3* hotel but I have been warmer swimming in lake Windermere this is the first holiday were I barely went in the pool.
This hotel has so much potential but it’s in need of a massive update especially those rooms that is what let’s this hotel down now I normally only look at hotels as somewhere to put my head down and not that fuss but when my sleep is affected each night this ruined it for me and my wife.
Also people should know that there is not much in the surrounding area there is a few restaurants but that is really it if you do come to this village rent a car otherwise you will just be around the pool your entire holiday and not experience this great Greek island.

Some good and some bad

I read the reviews for The Kalloni Beach Hotel before I visited and was not really looking forward to it! However, although I agreed with some of the new comments, like the cold food and the need for updating the bathrooms, there were also positives too! The food was lovely, although the main course was always only luke warm at best, even though we were first down for dinner. I did report this to the receptionist, so hopefully this may changeThe rooms and bathrooms are in need of updating, particularly replacement of shower curtains with screens which are much easier to clean, again this was reported to the receptionist who told me that there is an ongoing refurbishment of the bathrooms. The beach nearby is, at the beginning of May, a disgrace and the council should be ashamed that the beach is not cleaned at the beginning of the season. If you are booked at Kalloni Beach, you will have to rely on the swimming pool for sun bathing. On a positive note, the bed linen was very new and clean and towels were changed regularly. The staff were all very friendly, pleasant and eager to help. I would re visit with a hope that some upgrading had been carried out.
