Lovely week away

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Taylor Family – Room 205
We had a brilliant stay at Hotel Zafira in Thassos. The apartments are modern, clean and comfortable, the pool is fantastic, and everything is kept spotless with the villas cleaned daily.
The beach is absolutely amazing too — definitely one of the highlights of the stay. And whatever you do, try the Zombie cocktail at the bar… it will absolutely blow you away!
The staff are what really make this place special. They work incredibly hard and are genuinely friendly and helpful. A massive shout-out to Ollie, who is an absolute legend and went out of his way to help us. Not only is he a top bloke, but apparently he’s also an amazing tennis player and swimmer — basically, there’s nothing this man can’t do! ‍♂️
George is a lovely geezer too, and the Albanian lad in the restaurant is an absolute top bloke. Also, a big shout-out to the lovely Greek lady working at the bar — I didn’t catch her name, but she was absolutely ace and so friendly.
And a special mention to the lovely lady cooking the eggs at breakfast. She always made my eggs exactly how I liked them and was so friendly and welcoming every morning. Thank you — you’re a star! ❤️
And of course, Helen at breakfast — always lovely and welcoming.
All in all, a fantastic place with brilliant people. Clean, modern, friendly and welcoming, with an amazing beach and great facilities.
Highly recommended — the Taylor family from Room 205 will definitely be back! ☀️

Lots of potential

Fantastic location, great hotel, although needs tidying. The private beach is amazing. Having been here 3 years running, I've seen where things could improve. One, hotel entertainment. Theres a singer once a week and nothing the other 6 nights.
Food. 2 years ago the food was amazing, but the chef left and she went to a restaurant in the hills. The replacement isnt up to the same standards.
Last but not least, not having any fridges behind the bar for coke etc. Getting a vodka coke with a warm, flat coke is not nice. Getting some refrigerated units in would make all the difference.
We will definitely come back here at some point because its in such a lovely location but we just wish they could invest in a few things to make it where it should be

Good value

Stayed in large room with kitchenette. Half board. Friendly staff. Decent sized pool. Shop nearby. Location on the beach with free sun loungers. Room a little grubby in places, particularly shower tiles. Sofa/wardrobe could do with a proper clean between guests. Owners clearly attempting to upgrade the rooms over time. Nice balcony. Smell of drains strong and worse early evening when everyone was having a shower. Got a good discount, so the good outweighed the bad. Great beach for little children as the sea was clear and shallow in places. Avoid the rocky area where the sea urchins live.

Wonderful Hotel

Literally just returned from spending a week at this wonderful hotel. Our first visit to the area on the wonderful island of Thassos.
Extremely nice family run hotel situated on the beach. You could not ask for more from its position, quality of rooms and support of the wonderful staff.
The accommodation is more than basic but it's clean and functional.
We stopped Half board whilst the breakfast was basic it had enough choices to ensure the start to the day was good.
The real benefit was again whilst you had minimal choice for the evening mail you could exchange that for the lunch, which we did, and the lunch menu had enough choices.
We ate out most nights and there's some wonderful Tavernas in the area Olga's being the Number One.
Thank you Zafira for making our first visit so memorable and we will be back as soon as we can.

Family friendly place to stay

3rd time visiting, we came for a 40th birthday a family of 5.we finally got the villa thinking it was a luxury its very dated bathroom cabnet wood all split and swelling toilet seat hanging on by one screw shower tray filled with water when getting a shower then came out the drain by the toilet, no fridge , kettle or hair dryer, 2 plates 2 cups a few wine glasse between a family of 5, 1 ring plug in hob nothing to cook on it with a microwave no dishes to cook with, a random smoke alarm tucked away in the cutlery draw. NO CURTAINS or blinds so guest sat at front or out the back could see us changing ect, cleaners came in our room daily but didnt make beds or clean bathroom‍♀️ This didnt spoil our stay.. breakfast was nice eggs bacon tomatoes mushrooms sausages beans fruit pastrys bread jams and cerals, you could also have tea coffee juice or water. Then the lovely Helen would take your evening meal order you get 2 options plus a veggi option there would be a buffet laid out of feta cheese cucumber tomatoes bread and dips the meal would be served with rice or chips, you could swap for lunch menu which was alot better than the evening meal you dont get water with your meal but you get a small dessert, they do have a evening menu if you wish to buy a meal if you dont like whats on offer or had the lunch time meal. The staff are lovely and friendly happy to have a chat and full of info about the area and places to visit, The pool was clean a warm could do with a few more beds around it. The beach was lovly and plenty of beds there was alot of returning visitors and everyone seemed to speak to each other which was very nice. Theres a shop about 10min walk up the road and a supermarket about 20min walk.
