An absolute delight!

I needed ground floor accommodation at very short notice after my booked studio elsewhere was inaccessible to me due to mobility issues.
Yes there are 4 steps from the road to terrace level but a low wall alongside meant I could use the steps safely.
The studio was pristine and spacious with a large comfortable bed and decent WiFi and air conditioning. Well equipped small kitchen area for those who choose to self cater. Fly screen on window and patio door.
Table, chairs and umbrella on the terrace outside which is well planted with flowers and herbs.
In a fabulous location just across the road from the quiet end of the beach. Bus stop and mini market which also delivers, 75m.Two traditional tavernas next door but these had closed for the season.
Lots of beautiful well cared for cats in the neighbourhood who didn’t attempt to enter but wanted lots of head rubs.
Owner on site hardly speaks any English but we managed! A lovely lady who was so kind and brought some delicious cake.
Accommodated my request to stay an extra 2 days when the ferry was cancelled due to high winds.
I would have happily stayed longer and will definitely return.

Worst experiences

My stay in June 2026 was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The rooms were filthy, the sheets were stained, and there was hair everywhere. The photos look nothing like reality. The owner was rude and indifferent. Although we had arrived in the morning, our check-in was delayed and we didn't get into the room until 5 PM. It was a nightmare experience overall, with both live and dead bugs. We were forced to leave and find another accommodation.

Relaxing holiday in Astipaleia

Maganas Hotel is an excellent simple structure with all the necessary facilities: beach 10 meters, numerous taverns within 50 meters, two supermarkets. The management and 'family but efficient, cleaning and' daily. The kitchenette has everything for some simple meals. Welcoming was perfect. Would recommend and would stay again

Beautiful quiet environment !!!

Gentle reception beautiful and comfortable rooms... With a fully equipped kitchen to prepare or cook your food ... daily cleaning ... freshness smell on the sheets and towels ... a few steps from the sea ... the ideal place if you want peace and relaxation listening to the waves of the sea ...!!!

Lovely relaxing stay next to the sea

Lovely stay right on the beach, our third time here. Afroditi was kind and generous giving us home produced honey and jam.
The studio was light and airy with a nice balcony. We will definitely return.
