A Marvelous Mountain Retreat

Our group enjoyed a private cooking lesson with the master chef George, thanks to our organizer, Diamando Stratakos of “Wildroots embodied” with her cohost Deema and “Golive Spartan” it was a terrific experience at a beautiful location, and the food was among the best I’ve ever had. We finished the evening with chestnuts roasted from the chestnut trees on the property, and all elements of the meal were locally sourced. Highly recommended!

A unique, beautiful, authentic place to stay

We are from California, US. My wife, and two kids stayed there in June of 2022. If you are tired of the touristy parts of Greece, this is your place. The food is homemade, authentic, and delicious. I wanted to invite myself into the kitchen to watch the action, but cooler heads prevailed. The facility is also quite beautiful, with expansive views everywhere. The nice woman, Anastasia, offered warm hospitality and really just superb meals. We ate both breakfast and dinner there. (hope I didn't
screw up her name). My kids are somewhat picky eaters but they also loved the food. We were in Greece for 18 days; while some parts of Greece can feel like a "Greece theme park". this does not. We only stayed one night, as we were in kind of explorer mode, next time will stay a bit longer, especially if Anastasia will teach me how to make the kid pleasing loukoumades. Can't wait to return.

Small paradise

A cozy hotel, in the middle of the forest with a perfect view both to the Spartan land fields and to Taygetos mountain.
A pool that allows you to enjoy the whole mountain view.
Αt night you can enjoy the whole star sky shining, since you are away from the city.
Many beautiful mountain trekking routes nearby.
The restaurant is offering tasteful dishes with local ingredients.
Very helpful and kind staff.

Mixed emotions

We spent two nights at this hotel. It is located in the middle of nowhere, one thousand meters above the sea level, offering splendid views. We enjoyed the sense, that we were so isolated and in touch with nature. Many hiking routes start from the area. Mr George, the owner, is really helpful and kind. The room we stayed, had a view to the top of Taygetos. We found it a little bit overpriced: the kid’s bed was short and noisy, the shower was not working well, heating wasn’t offered all day long and the breakfast was less than basic. The restaurant was really good, offering home made specialties, but the smell from the kitchen was annoying, as it covered literally the whole place. Although we had a good time, we wouldn’t return.
