Just AMAZING!!
From check in Eva took care of us, explained everything and took us to our room which was big and clean with fridge.
Pool is clean and we got a sunbed whenever we needed one. The staff at the hotel are just amazing and can’t do enough for you. Steffi runs the pool bar in the evening and is just hilarious and always made sure we weren’t without a drink for long and even making sure we had our favourite glasses.
Breakfast is served buffet style in the hotel and it’s freshly made and they are always restocking to ensure everyone has what they want.
Half board evening meals are served at the Thalassi Restaurant which is a 5 min walk or they provide a shuttle bus there and back. Each day there was something different on the buffet and it was all freshly cooked. Definitely try the soup!! Plenty of tables and the most spectacular view! The restaurant also does al la cart which you must try at least once and hotel guests get 20% of menu prices.
Demitri and Marcus are the most amazing hosts and looked after us all week, we even went in the day times down to the beach area at the side of the restaurant and then come up and have a few drinks and play cards under an umbrella.
Mondays they have a live singer in and Fridays is Greek night where they have dancers and music on.
The staff at the hotel and the restaurant could not do enough for us and I genuinely felt like extended family by the middle of the week. Demitri even took a select few of us out on the Sunday to see his village and monastery, his farm and many many olive trees and we stopped at a lovely cafe for coffee and raki which Demitri paid for. Demitri is passionate about his food and business and he explained to us all how he doesn’t use any pesticides on his crops and it’s all natural which made his food even more appealing.
The hotel is not in a busy area but it has 2 supermarkets, 2 bakeries and a pharmacy nearby and the centre of Rethymno is 20 mins by bus which is only €2.20 euros or €23 in a taxi which we did a couple of days.
I would recommend this hotel and restaurant to anybody and I will definitely be back!!
Thank you for making our stay so memorable ❤️

Positives and Negatives!
The location of the hotel is out of the way. There is one Pharmacy, bakery, coffee shop, supermarket and one taverna close by. The beach is accessible via a short walk and through an underpass under a dual carriageway. The beach is good quality sand. Sunbeds were available on the bigger part of the beach, we didn't purchase any so can't say how much they were.
We opted for a half board option, unfortunately this was extremely disappointing. Breakfast was poor, served on site and while it offered fruit, yogurts, bread and some cooked options, the quality was poor. Overcooked boiled and fried eggs. Yogurt was not traditional Greek yogurt and coffee was from a machine. It was not good quality.
Having opted for half board at a number of 3/4 and 5 star hotels before, this was by far the worst for quality. We were informed that dinner was not served on site but in a restaurant near the beach, accessible via foot or on the hotel shuttle bus(which was frequent). The first night that we tried the dinner option, the offer was a tray of chips, tray of pizza, soup, bread rolls, some cooked lamb, chicken skewers, lightly dusted fish pieces, cucumber and tomato(in a bowl) feta cheese and olives. That was it! No rice, no other potato options, pudding options was ice cream from the freezer. It was honestly astonishing that this was the dinner option. Had the dishes on offer been basic but cooked well with salad, carbohydrate, veg and fruit options we would have been happy with this. The dinner is served at the Thalassi restaurant. The ala carte part of the restaurant overlooks the sea. There was a feeling that the half board option was poor to encourage people to eat at the ala carte. We did this one night due to the quality of the half board food. We were not that impressed. Overpriced and not particularly tasty, although a beautiful setting when the sun went down. Much better quality of food served at Restaurant Eleven and Kehagias(we ate there 3 times) and pricing was fair.
We flew back early morning, this meant we checked out at 11am and had until 11pm until the transfer bus collected. There is a shower to use however, again not particularly clean and poor facilities. There was no option to lock up cases or hand luggage. Cases could be left by the front desk, but there were times this was unattended and the main hotel door was open. Due to carrying a range of electronics devices, passports and valuables we had to keep hand luggage with us all day. This is not acceptable for a 3 star hotel and needs reviewing.
This hotel would be fine if you want to access local visits and excursions but just not enough on offer for a family and location equally a let down. However the biggest disappointment was the food. Don't waste money with a half board option.

An unbeatable family holiday. Book it.
A wonderful family team run this hotel and restaurant who made us feel ever so welcome. Highlights include (1) the size and layout of the superior family room (which is more like an apartment) - modern and ultra clean with a pool facing balcony, (2) a good range of traditional buffet food with stunning sunset seaside views in the taverna, (3) the recently rennovated swimming pool area, (4) deck chairs always being available on account of there only being ~30 guests at a time, (5) location - a 5min walk to a nice sandy beach with lunchtime snacks, (6) close to bus stops - we highly recommend a trip to nearby Panormos (10min bus ride), and (7) nearby lunchtime options at the bakery and gyros cafe, (8) ability to unwind here - away from the crowds of Rethymnon, (9) a nice cooked breakfast buffet - with their baked items (rotating daily) the pick, (10) the poolside bar - never a queue, Mythos pints always cold!
We will definitely be returning.
