Peaceful getaway

A beautiful Caribbean guesthouse - great location, 10 minutes walk from main town. Gorgeous scenery & sea views. Access to the sea with steps down from the garden, great for snorkeling. Good size rooms with fans & mosquito nets. Continental breakfast included. An ideal place for ultimate peace & relaxation.

A touch of the old Carribean

Staying in the cottage at the Green Roof is a taste of the old Caribbean: a beautiful spot, overlooking the bay & a a rustic cabin with a porch. The cottage has no A/C, only a floor fan that was most adequate early in the morning when it cooled off considerably. The cabin wants a ceiling fan and an end of season cleaning & paint job. Sunsets were pretty spectacular from the porch or pavilion a few steps away. The dinners by Leslie Ann were most outstanding: fresh poached fish, bountiful vegetables with a tasty creole sauce and warm bread; eaten on an upstairs porch in the main house. A beautiful spot to relax after exploring Hillsboro; porches & sitting areas in the main building to do yoga or read are lovely. Definitely take a bus to experience the wonderful traditional feel of Carriacou.

Peaceful, comfortable stay at Green Roof Inn

Everything thing about this place was perfect. Easy walk to Hillsborough, the atmosphere was very comfortable and peaceful. We stayed in the cottage which was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Wonderful to fall asleep to the waves crashing in. The food, which was prepared by Head Chef, LeslieAnn, was out of this world. We fished everyday and if were lucky enough to catch something, she was more than happy to prepare it for us. And did I mention, the best Rum Punch? We look forward to future stays at the Green Roof Inn.

Nice place - bad service

The place is nice - remote and yet close to town (10-15 min walk). Nice garden and direct access to the sea.
The breakfast area has a stunning view and atmosphere. Rooms and lounge areas are nicely furnished.

Many mosquitoes that come through the window slits (nets in front). No aircon. Cleaning is poor to none even though we asked for it. Personal uncharming. Breakfast below hostel quality. (It’s a hotel) Rolls close to uneatable.

Beautiful location for a dreadful night!

This is the worst hotel I have ever seen anywhere. My wife and I have owned and operated hotels for 40 years. Green Roof Inn has location which is great but our room had no working windows, no curtain over the balcony door, no flushing toilet, no plug in the basin, no hot water. When we arrived, no lights or power points worked. After some time, we found a woman who found a man and the electricity was made to work for a few minutes before failing again. No food unless we arranged for a cook to come in (a restaurant was claimed). Asking for drinks from the bar found nothing available. We suffered many mosquito bites as the only way to get fresh air was to leave balcony door open. After 1 night, bleeding and angry we left and were not asked to pay for the room.
