Comfortable and friendly hotel by the lake

Good budget option in Flores on the island. Colourful building and rooms and breakfast available to order. Friendly service and very convenient for lake trips or day tours further afield to Tikal and onwards to Belize.

A very simple structure at a good price

The property consists of a few rooms and a kitchen for common use. The rooms are quite basic, suitable for a short stay. In my very uncomfortable bathroom because divided into two rooms: the shower in one and the toilet with sink in another. Only one towel is provided, I think at least two are needed for a two day stay.
The owner is nice but unsociable, while the girls who are often in reception are very polite and helpful.
There is a free water dispenser, very useful and appreciable.
Laundry service available on request (well managed).
I recommend it if you plan to stay only a couple of days in Flores.

Outstanding hospitality

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Itzayana. Our host Rosario was lovely and very helpful throughout. She also speaks English and was also very patient with me practising my mangled Spanish! We also got our bus tickets to Lanquin through her as well. Our room was spacious and the beds comfortable. Air conditioning was very welcome after a hot journey to get there! Wifi was also generally good and our room also had cable tv. We also made good use of their kitchen whilst we were there. They provide filtered water in the kitchen too for all guest use. They also offer breakfast for Q35 each however we didn't opt for this. The common areas don't have fly screens, so that's one thing that would make the stay even better.

Excellent hosts and great value!

I cannot say enough good things about the hosts. They helped me plan my tours and transportation and purchased all my tickets for me before I even got to Flores. They even met me at the bus station at 9:00pm after I’d checked out and brought my luggage so I wouldn’t have to take it with me to Tikal. The room was comfortable, clean, and affordable!

Nothing negative

Really nice place. Quite, relaxing and clean. Hot water and air cond is a luxury at this end of the budget. Big clean kitchen and dining area. Lots of room for the few guests that stay here. Great views from the upstairs balcony.
