Zapote Tree Inn Excellence!

Zapote Tree Inn & Iwana Tours was an excellent experience for those that like to be a bit off the beaten path, but want an adventure experience rather than a resort experience. Erick was an excellent host as the manager, and was an encyclopedia of knowledge regarding the local area. Although we did not go on any tours other than taking a boat ride to Isla Flores and back, his services were timely, and Erick was happy to answer any and all questions about the area. Zapote’s resident dog named Mowgli also provided excellent guide services on our hike around Tayasal Peninsula and to the local Mayan Tayasal archeological excavation site! Zapote Tree Inn is a gem, and the views of Isla Flores from the property are spectacular!

Best Stay in Flores

We had a wonderful stay at the zapote tree inn in Flores, the venue is managed by Eric who was always ready to take us anywhere we needed, including 2:30 in the morning to take the morning tour in Tikal, not to mention the best food we ate in Guatemala made with much capricho by Mrs. Brenda and Marissol, can ask anything from the menu, don't regret it.
The view of the hotel is beautiful, comfortable rooms, the shower did not warm but also did not miss, because it was very hot! Note 10 p all

Best experience in Guatemala within a month of travel!

Clean, well organized, good food, romantic setting.... 5 minute boat ride from Flores (10Q/person/way). Not as noisy in the evening as Flores but yet, the town restaurants
are easy accessible- not that you'd need them:Brenda's cooking is excellent and prices here are on par or lower than in town. Peter, the owner, is more than helpful when it comes to booking or organizing tours for his guest. Some reviews state, the tours are cheaper in town. Yes, marginal. But being taken to the tour bus by the hotel boat is always included. And really convenient: just in time, no hanging around in the heat or haggling with the tour operator....Overall, we were more than satisfied and Zapote tree house exceeded our expectations. We will recommend to friends and family AND eventually be back....

Beautiful, quiet and personal

The inn is owned and run by a wonderful couple Peter and Yolanda. they built the entire property themselves and their hard work and love for what they do is apparent in every detail. The views are spectacular and the rooms are very comfortable. The location is right next to beautiful trails through the jungle to a picturesque beach. You can also easily access the island of Flores and all other attractions around Lake Peten. Peter had a wealth of knowledge about the local region and Guatemala in general that he shared with us. Speaking with him really added to our experience. if you are looking for a special unique place, Zapote Tree is where you need to go.
The hotel is only accessible by a steep dirt road and the path is unclear. Peter was very helpful and suggested to drive us to the entrance of Flores.

Beautiful place

Stranded here coincidentally. We only had some drinks, but what a nice place and the nicest people! Great view and peaceful environment! It’s a shame we didn’t found this place before. Next time in Flores we would definitely stay here! Thanks
