Breakfast options are great, rooms are always clean and I love the expansion that’s taking place with the mall

When I paid, they charged me 157,904 Guyanese dollars. This amount, at the official exchange rate, was around 760 U.S. dollars on the day I paid. However, according to my reservation on Hotels.com, the price should have been around 730 U.S. dollars. There is a significant difference between the amount of my reservation and what I actually paid.
In addition, my room was not cleaned every day that I stayed.
I do not recommend this hotel.

Not so Royal after all.

We stayed in a third floor room and while the room itself was beautiful featuring double beds and a balcony view. The atmosphere of the room provided one with comfort and the ability to recline after daily excursions into Guyana. However, it does not excuse the service we had received at the hotel nor it's condition upon our return.
For instance, our room had a bathroom vent fan which, while effective, kept filling the room with the smell of feces and urine even at times no one using the toilet. Furthermore, housekeeping had forgotten to replenish the toilet paper for the room, despite entering to collect the used towels. In addition, the washing machine available to guests was not cleaned, and there was no dryer available. When we had called to ask about the laundry service, the front desk claimed it was a not a service they had despite offering it on their list of services. Speaking of the front of the front desk, they know little to no English, and were very rude when asked basic questions about basic amenities and the gym they had which needed a voucher to use as a guest already paying for a room. Three of us were staying in the room and they said only two people were eligible for the complimentary breakfast.
As for the cleanliness of the room, the beds were only tidied, but the sheets themselves were never washed during our twenty day stay at the hotel. There were multiple instances of housekeepers ignoring used glasses and dirty cups, opting to leave them despite visible usage. The floor for the room was always covered in dust and sand which ended up inside of the sheets. There were also multiple instances of garbage being left in the room despite being placed in the correct rubbish bin.
As for the restaurant, the food was delicious but on one occasion, we were having dinner and they decided to closed the kitchen and cut off their music long before the time to close had passed, resulting in the employees watching the guests still eating their dinner in silence making for a more than awkward rest of the evening. They had also ran out of most of their drinks (Malta, Smalta, Oolong tea, red wine etc.) they did end up having Banks, Shandy and water available for consumption. On a side note, the waiter we had serving us displayed rudeness in the form of throwing the cheque on the table at the conclusion of the meal.
Last but not least, there were multiple instances of cockroaches being found in the hotel, even going as far as being in the room we're staying in. One had made its way into our room and we needed to dispatch it. Given there's a restaurant in the hotel, the presence of cockroaches should be a glaring red flag to visitors and management alike.
For $200 USD ($3,923.00 USD total) a night these conditions are unacceptable.

Stayed at this hotel with a very large group from 7/10-16,the hotel was very clean but that's to be expected as it is still new..the room size was decent but my room had the toilet in the shower which was very dangerous as it gets really slippery especially when you wake up in the middle of the night to use the rest room..absolutely no one at the front desk spoke English, the language barrier is a big deal especially when you're in an English speaking country, there are lots of restaurants on property but only Asian restaurants, with the exception of 1 fried chicken spot,I went to 1 of the Asian (Chinese) restaurant to get something for my husband, the man at the register watched me walk up to place my order and turned his back and walked away..I stood there for 10 minutes to make sure I understood what I was experiencing and he never turned around, same experience at the Boba stand, needless to say that experience left such a bad taste in my mouth..I booked a total of twelve rooms for my group and we all had similar experiences, we did not know there was a pool or gym until the last day, there's nothing that gives directions and you can't ask because they don't understand!!! As a travel agent I would absolutely never ever book anyone else at this hotel, the experience was horrible 😫
