Small hostel in the heart of the city!

Lovely small hostel right in the party area of Budapest! 1min walking from famous Instant/Fogas ruin pub and also close to Szimpla :) The small rooms have air conditioner in it and they offer towels. Also the kitchen is available for cooking!
Lots of restaurantes nearby and a supermarket 2mins walking from the hostel as well!

Small budget hostel with perfect location for nightlife

The hostel itself is very difficult to find as it is only an apartment in a block of flats along a main road. Luckily, someone always answered the phone promptly to help us locate and have access to the hostel. The building itself is quite run down and dirty and we certainly would suggest avoiding the wooden lift! However inside the hostel it was clean and welcoming with plenty of information available about Budapest for tourists. The kitchen is more than sufficient to cook a meal with a lovely decorated lounge area attached. There are two bathrooms with one shower. Our room was decorated nicely and fairly clean although it was clear the bed sheets had not been washed or changed! We did expect the hostel to be larger but there were only a few rooms and it seemed empty for the majority of our stay. The location however is perfect for young people/ couples. Opposite is a large supermarket and multiple cash points which was useful. It sits along a street full of bars/clubs and restaurants and the night life was full and buzzing. If you want a quiet stay this is not the place for you but for us it was perfect to pop out for a drink and visit the club only a few paces away from the apartment. For daytime its merely 15 minute walk ish from top attractions and we felt very much at the heart of the city. The owner was extremely friendly, spoke excellent English and was flexible with payments. If you're looking as a couple/ pair to stay in a cheap, private room in a buzzing part of the city this place is perfect but for quieter travelers be aware the street is filled with tourists looking to enjoy the nightlife.

Friendly, welcoming and well located.

From the outset, the staff and management of Acacia couldn't have been more accommodating. Our flight into Budapest was delayed meaning that we didn't reach the hostel until after 1am. Having informed the manager of this, he arranged to have a member of staff stay on to welcome us. We really appreciated this flexibility.
Located a stones throw from the diverse and lively Jewish district as well as a few minutes walk from the heart of the city, Acacia is perfectly positioned for those keen to explore Budapest on foot. We had a hire car for the duration of our stay and although there is no parking at the property, there is an inexpensive, secure and automated multi storey car park on the same street.
The apartment is set in a traditional residential block and features three large double bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated with modern furnishings. The hostel features a modern full size bathroom as well as a small W/C. The kitchen and dining area is appointed with all the amenities you could wish for and there is cold beer/coke in the fridge available for a small cost.
Throughout our stay the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, particularly Alex who help us to fix a stiff window shutter in the room. The property manager, Boldizsar was available by email and was very keen to ensure everything was done to make sure our stay was as good as it could be.
All in all, we couldn't recommend Acacia more highly. It is less of a hostel in the traditional sense and far more like a serviced private apartment. It would be perfect for couples as well as companion travellers.
