Amazing Boutique Hotel In The City Centre

I could not imagine a better place at a better value in the heart of the city centre. The Loft was easily accessible. Check in was a breeze. The room was huge and beautiful. Immaculate bathroom facility. Close to some fabulous restaurants and a short walk to the riverfront. Staff was friendly and kind. And during the heat of the summer, the air conditioning was ice cold. Slept like a baby!!! Stay here!!!!

Overpriced and Overrated

I had high hopes for the Loft Budapest, but it was pretty disappointing, especially for the outrageous rate I was charged. The "hotel" is really a collection of just a few rooms on the first floor of an old and dilapidated office building. On the one hand, the location is excellent as it's very central to all the main attractions in Budapest. On the other hand, the square/street it's located on is extremely loud; given the rooms are on the first floor, you'll have a hard time getting to sleep early, as it's loud until rather late. The room, at first glance, is quite nice, large with high ceilings and "hip." However, that's more or less where it stops. The sheets and towels are old and not clean, the curtains in the room are ripped and don't close completely, the tv doesnt have channels (only subscription channels like Netflix), and its wires are hanging out everywhere. I asked for my room to be made every day, and all I got was "you need to request it, and essentially they'll only give you new towels." There was a front desk attendant available only until 8pm every day. They were generally nice, but given that they are different people every day, there's no consistency of service whatsoever. This place is really more of a badly serviced apartment in a central location - nothing more. I wouldn't stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that your stay did not live up to your expectations.
However, we would like to clarify that The Loft Budapest is officially classified and registered as a hotel, operating in full compliance with all relevant regulations.
While we appreciate your comments regarding the room condition and services, please note that if these concerns had been brought to our attention while you were here at the property, our team would have been able to assist and resolve them immediately; unfortunately, there is little we can do retroactively after your departure.
Thank you once again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

More of a Hostel Feel rather than a Boutique Hotel

The rooms were decent, but overall this place feels much more like an upscale hostel than a true boutique hotel. One of the biggest surprises was that housekeeping is not done daily unless you specifically request it. Even when the room was cleaned, they still left dirty mugs behind, which really reflects the overall lack of attention and service.
Reception is only staffed from 8am–8pm, which makes the hotel feel very limited in terms of guest support. The small details also felt unnecessarily cheap. For the entire stay, they provide just one Earl Grey tea bag and one green tea bag. If you want more, they charge €1 per tea bag — and it’s not even premium tea, just basic Lipton sachets.
There is essentially zero service at this hotel. For the price point, I would absolutely not recommend staying here. We travel frequently, and this is honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, mainly because of the complete lack of hospitality and service.
Please do not market this property as a boutique hotel. It is much closer to a hostel with slightly nicer rooms than an actual boutique hotel experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your stay with us did not meet your expectations and that you did not enjoy your overall experience at The Loft.
We would, however, like to clarify a few points regarding our property. The Loft is officially registered and categorized by the authorities as a hotel. As an 8-room boutique hotel, we take great pride in our classification, and we respectfully ask that you refrain from referring to us as a hostel. There is a significant difference in both service standards and operational category between the two types of accommodation.
Regarding our services, we provide fresh coffee capsules and tea bags during our daily housekeeping. While we include a set amount as a standard amenity, we do offer additional capsules or tea sachets for a nominal fee of 1 EUR per item at the reception. We introduced this policy because individual preferences vary greatly; since some guests may consume a large number of beverages per day, this model helps us keep our overall rates competitive.
Regarding our reception hours, our 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM schedule is a standard operating model for boutique properties of our size. Please be assured that even outside of these hours, our team remains reachable via message and phone should any emergency arise, as we are committed to our guests' safety and comfort.
We would also like to note that despite the housekeeping issues you encountered, our receptionist went above and beyond their designated duties to personally clean your room and resolve the problem immediately. Given this effort to rectify the situation on the spot, we are disappointed that you still felt the need to leave such a negative review.
Furthermore, while we are constantly striving to raise our standards, we hope you can appreciate that as a small boutique hotel, we cannot physically compete with large international chains in terms of the number of services offered. If guests require a broader range of amenities, we are happy to recommend neighboring large-scale hotels; please keep in mind, however, that these establishments operate in a completely different price category. We believe that if extensive, full-service amenities are a primary priority, guests should select a property that matches those expectations and the corresponding price point.
We regret that you felt our attention to detail fell short, and we have addressed your comments with our team to ensure better standards moving forward. We are sorry that our hospitality did not resonate with you, and we appreciate your input as we strive to improve our services.

Stay Away

Stay away from this hotel. After booking, I tried contacting the hotel using their listed phone number (+36 20 293 8755). I spent three days calling with no success. They do not respond to calls or to emails from my travel agent either.

THE LOFT@Budapest, great stay for couples

Me and my wife had come to see the sights of Budapest and THE LOFT was our choice, this turned out to be a fantastic one♥️. Location was really central to the main sights and attractions with plenty of choice for food and drink options on the door step. The room was excellent, great decor and roomy with air con and high ceilings to help you feel cool with the temp being 33c on our visit. Room had a mini bar (chargeable) but useful to have a fridge for your own stuff. Bed was very comfy and cleanliness was good. There is a small reception area with tea and coffee facilities with great staff there always available to help you and give tourist info if needed. I would happily recommend this to all and if we return to Budapest I would book here again in a heartbeat
