Don't lose your plastic card room key.

Hotel is modern refurb in a city centre location. *Warning* We were shocked though that they will charge Hfl 10,000 ($28) for a lost room key - it's not solid gold, it's a plastic card. Staff were helpful.................

Unprofessional treatment of guests

The hotel staff changed the room we had booked without our consent and gave us a much smaller one instead. The room was at street level, with the windows covered up, and it gave the impression that it was a converted storage room or utility space rather than a proper hotel room.
When I asked the receptionist about the room we had originally booked, he claimed that the person who had made the reservation had decided that they did not like it and had changed it to the room that I had booked. When I explained that the room he showed us did not meet our expectations and that we wanted the room we had originally booked, he simply said that there was nothing he could do.
This is a very unprofessional attitude towards guests. If it had not been for the fact that we arrived quite late, I would definitely have changed hotels.
