Correct

Hotel located opposite the port.
Access to reception via a staircase (difficult with suitcases).
Large bedroom but small bathroom with no place to put the kits.
Equipment: no TV, no air conditioning, no safe, no balcony. Kettle with teas + coffees. Good wifi.
Dinner (good). Dish: cod + puree + vegetables. Dessert: Chocolate cake. Coffee or tea in self-serve thermos.
Self-service breakfast moderately provided.

Hostel not Hotel

Expensive compared to quality and it's definitely not a hotel it's a hostel. The breakfast was good that's it.

Simple clean quarter with simplest breakfast

I came to this hotel in July as part of a desperate search for accommodation.
For much of the year, the district serves as an accommodation for students.
Room 218 was clean and also heated during this time when I was here in 6 degrees and freezing wind.
The wifi in the room did not work at all. This absolutely needs to be improved to have internet access in the rooms.
Breakfast is the worst I have experienced in my five visits to Iceland.
Even at a relatively reasonable price for accommodation, a simple good breakfast can still be provided.
A cold cereal does not taste good, it needs a microwave so guests can warm up in a few minutes.
I also recommend some kettles that can be provided to guests in the rooms on loan.

OK as Youth Hostel

The Torfnes Hotel is from my point of view not a hotel but a Youth Hostel. It is actually a boarding school which turns into a „hotel“ in summer. The rooms are basic (no fridge, TV or other amenities) but clean. The only issue was the smell which did also not go away with opening the window. The breakfast was good and with some choice. There is no restaurant at the Torfnes but you get 10% off at the LOGN restaurant at the Isafjordur Hotel. The LOGN restaurant is very good and recommendable. If you do not expect a real hotel the Torfnes is absolutely OK also if you consider the price.

Poor

Poor - a white Box with 3 beads and some chairs from a kitchen.
Not possible to dry-up after a rainy day.
To my supprise: you could tale a warm shower.
There must be other places in this beautyfull corner of Iceland!
