Great experience at Fosshotel Lind Reykjavik

I stayed here with my wife for 2 nights first week of July 2026. It was nice and clean. The beds are comfortable as well. The room had blackout curtains and a window that opens. The gentleman when checking in did not make any efforts or try to give us early check in. This was a one off event, other people were very helpful. I also wanted to address three main issues/points that I saw in the reviews of this hotel.
Small shower: in some parts of the world outside North America, bathrooms are like wet rooms and you have to use the squeegee(provided by hotel) to collect water around the drain after taking shower. You don’t have to fully close the shower door to take shower.
Sulphur smell from hot water: it is normal in iceland to have it, as hot water is coming from natural source. They have mentioned it in the shower. The smell is temporary and goes away quickly.
Parking: They have some few spots behind the hotel, which gets filled up pretty quick in the evenings. But, around the hotel there are plenty of free parking between 21:00 and 9:00.
These points are not a deal breaker for us and we will definitely book this hotel in future keeping mind the location. It is not right in the centre of downtown which makes it little quite as well.

Thank you for your wonderful and detailed review! We're delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay, especially our clean and comfortable rooms, quiet location, and the helpful service from our team.
Thank you as well for sharing your helpful tips about Iceland's geothermal hot water, wet-room style bathrooms, and parking. We're sure future guests will find them useful. We also appreciate your understanding regarding early check-in. During the busy summer season, when the hotel is often fully booked, early check-in is unfortunately not always possible as we need enough time to prepare rooms for arriving guests.
It means a lot to know you would choose to stay with us again. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Reykjavík!

Great location but design of bathroom needed improvement and maintainence.

The location of the hotel is great, just walking distance from town center and lots of great restaurants nearby.
The only issue we had is with the condition of the bathroom which is extremely small. There's barely enough space to move and to make matters worse, the drainage was poor and the bathroom floor was totally flooded after 1 shower.

Centrally located, good breakfast, parking, bad Wifi, small rooms.

The positives are that it's located close to the downtown area without being too close to bars and clubs. They have limited parking, but we always got a spot. The people were nice, and the breakfast has a good selection of foods. The negatives are that the rooms are small, which is expected in most city hotels. But the room lacked places to open your bags besides the bed. The shower is just a small curtain in the bathroom, and the water goes down a drain on the floor, which makes it tricky to find a place to put your stuff where it won't get wet. The hot water in Iceland is a separate system from the cold and is heated by geothermal heat. It smells of sulfur, which isn't the hotel's fault, but a better ventilation system would be helpful. Another issue was that the WiFi was terrible and basically useless in our room, but O.K. in public areas. None of these things were a major issue because we basically just used the hotel to sleep, shower, and have breakfast.

Perfect hotel for a stay in Reykjavik

Just back from a superb 4 day stay with my teenage daughter. Location is perfect, just a short walk to the main areas.
The hotel itself was immaculate, staff very friendly and an excellent breakfast was provided.. All round great value for money and would certainly recommend

This is quite possibly the worst place I've ever stayed in my entire life. The staff primarily the front desk person, acted as if they were doing me a favor with any request that I may have had, for example, to call for a taxi. The shower had no drain basin, which caused it to leak and flood the entire bathroom floor. The water at this hotel smelled of sulfur, it was absolutely disgusting. I vomited from the smell! Just a horrible place would not recommend anyone!
