Nice local Hotel near center of Reykjavik

We were a group of 14 looking for a nice hotel, near city center Reykjavik, for one night before a cruise. We found Hotel Eyja in an internet search. They had a 24 hour-manned front desk, would store luggage due to very early arrival, had a bar and restaurant and were within 20-minute walk to city center and a 7-minute drive to the Cruise Terminal. They also had connections to help with excursions and taxi service. We communicated via email several time before arrival, and each time responses were quick, polite and informative. The staff communication after we arrived was also very friendly and effective. We found the rates to be very competitive and reasonable. The rooms were very clean, albeit on the small size, but that was consistent with the local market. The lobby was nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, but the menu for dinner was essentially soup and paninis. The good news is the staff made excellent recommendations about local restaurants within a block or two. We would highly recommend this hotel

Perfect Boutique Hotel Experience

The perfect stay before we boarded our two week Holland America Cruise. We were a 56 year old couple with a 26 year old son and the triple room worked great! Due to airport delays our three night stay turned in to only two nights but we loved the time we were there. The location to everything in the city center was an easy and safe walk. Also a quick taxi ride to Sky Lagoon and the cruise port. The front desk was helpful with our questions and the cocktails at the bar and the food we ordered in the evening was great. We were concerned about no air conditioning and we did have unusual weather of sunshine, but we opened the windows and slept great. The street the hotel is located on is quiet and we didn’t notice any noise from the street in our room while sleeping. And what an amazing view from our small balcony area. The staff was great about answering our many questions prior to our arrival and provided great recommendations for airport transfer and the golden circle tour. Seriously a great way to start our Iceland/Norway adventure and we would choose this hotel when we return.

Free parking!

Cute hotel, love the decor. Free and plentiful parking just outside, best deal in town! We walked to city center in about 10-15 minutes, though there are restaurants nearby, and some food at the hotel for purchase. I loved this place, it was quiet and peaceful for our first night.

convenient location, nice staff. Not sure why but the hotel has some kind of Southeast Asia ambience. It is not bad but being in Reykjavik and staying at Asia-resorts famed hotel was something we did not expected. Anyhow, facilities are good, staff are friendly, easy to walk to downtown, a parking lot directly next to the hotel which is great in Reykavik.

Excellent

We loved our stay. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to help. The location is extremely central, making it easy to explore the city. It offers excellent value for money.

Very good location
